My father had bladder cancer. It stayed on the inner layer of the bladder and didn't spread. He would have to go for the surgery to clean out any growth every year or so and would need a catheter for a couple days after the surgery but was fine otherwise. The didn't really do any treatments. They tried something once, I forget what it was called, but it wasn't effective. I know a friend's father had a similar experience.
