Baby Movement ***UPDATE***
So tomorrow I will be 21 weeks and I haven't felt anything yet :( I had my anatomy scan on March 23rd and they said everything was great! So why can't I feel anything yet? Should I call the doctor? I'm feeling left out of my own pregnancy
UPDATE: So I am 23 weeks today - at the end of last week I started to feel the same feeling in the same area....it kinda feels like a quick muscle spasm - I think I am finally feeling the baby! My next appt is on Thursday - def, my first question! I wish I knew for sure it was my little peanut!

Re: Baby Movement
I did not feel the baby move until the end of my 21st week very close to my 22nd week. It was so slight then that I wasn't sure it was even the baby.

Thank you for the reply - I am getting really sad about it because everyone keeps assuming that I have felt the baby and when I say I haven't felt anything, they look at me puzzled - it makes it worse

Re: Baby Movement
I'm 21 weeks and I havent felt anything either! this past weekend I felt something like butterflies? That feeling that a person would get when they are really nervous or when you belly does flip flops..I assumed that was it? But its only happened once (maybe twice)...I havent felt anything to constitute "kicking". It totally bums me out to because EVERYONE is asking me and I'm so eager to feel something! I went to the dr this past monday and they said everything is perfect and normal...so we just have to be patient!

Re: Baby Movement
You may be feeling it and just not even realize it. That happened when I was pregnant with DS. Everyone can explain the feeling differently, and therefore you may be looking for the wrong thing
Regardless, I wouldn't worry about it. It isn't abnormal to have not felt the baby just yet.

I didnt feel anything until almost 21wks. U will feel it soon. ometimes you dont realize that something u felt was actually it. It took me a bit to realize i dont have the fluttering feeling or popping feeling. Mine actually feels like someone rubbing against me. Now lil kicks here & there. Its still so weird. lol

Re: Baby Movement
I'm 27 weeks and this actually gets me down.
I started feeling the baby move a little later than everyone else. At first it was light movements and only a few each day. I don't think I really started to feel anything until like 23 weeks or so. I can't even remember.
Then slowly the movements became more and more. My stomach even moved a few times.
All of a sudden... I stopped really feeling anything at all. No more stomach movements no more consistent kicks or punches. I was lucky if I felt 3 barely there deep inner movements per day.
I called the dr office last Thursday about this. They sent me to Labor and Delivery at the hospital to be monitored. Turns out my placenta is all over my left side and under my belly button. The placenta is literally blocking all the baby's movements. I cannot feel anything at all. It's very worrisome, because if something is wrong I have no way of knowing it. They even told me "if you don't feel her for a full day then come back". But I can't feel her.... like I said IF i get 3 deep inner gas like movements a day I'm lucky!!
I checked her heartbeat today... and her heartbeat has been on my right side for a week or so and was on my right side at the hospital last Thursday as well... today it was on the left side. So she literally flipped around... and I had no idea... and didn't feel anything at all. She's like 14 inches long and almost 2 lbs and I can't feel any movements. It's insane to me.
I think at 21 weeks you are OK. When is your next appt? I would just bring it up then. When I was around 21 weeks they told me that it was ok and I would be starting to feel movements soon. If you are worried though, you can always call to speak with them.
I'm sorry. I know how bummed you feel.

Oh man, hang in there! Good thing you have that heartbeat monitor. My next appointment is April 23rd - I think at the end of this week when I am about 22 weeks, I will call the doctor

Re: Baby Movement
I was about 24 weeks before i felt him move - I was a little scared... but now I know he's just very laid back and chillin in the womb, and he was just waiting til he was ready to bust some moves lol (the 22 weeks sono showed him moving - so all was ok. I was just feeling left out!)

Re: Baby Movement
I didn't feel my baby for the longest time and learned it was because I had an anterior placenta, so it wasn't until the baby was larger that I started to feel her movements.
If you are concerned, call your OB.

Re: Baby Movement
I haven't felt much either, my dr said it may be bc the placenta is laying on top rather than behind (nothing to worry about also) but thats prob why, I feel little here and there but NOT as much as I want to...and its always when i'm going to bed lol we'll feel it soon!

Re: Baby Movement
I had not felt ANYTHING when I was at 21 weeks. . not even a flutter! But boy when he started moving he did not stop and the few times he did of course i went crazy!
hang in there. everyone feels things different. I think I was almost 23 weeks before i felt consistent movement at all and one of my friends did not really feel anything at all most of her pregnancy due to her placenta placement. .
