they love it! i do not know about any studes etc but i am not going to worry about obesity in my 5 month old bc i gave them cereal
Ita!!
This!!! My DS was ready and happy with trying new things at 4 months. If he wasn't I would have stopped and tried again later.
Now at 16 months he is skinny and eats everything we give him. I think the studies are BS.
Feed when you and your LO are ready.
The studies are linking it to obesity/digestive issues later in life. So not at age 3...more like age 30. Even if the studies are BS it wasn't a big deal IMO to wait 2 more months. My DD didn't know the difference anyway.
And if course it won't affect everyone...nothing does. But I felt it made more sense to wait.
I just have to say, obesity has to do with genetics and diet. According to the study , my kids will be obese. No one in our family is even overweight, it's in the genes. I am 100%!confident my kids will never be obese
I agree! My mom said I started cereal at two months, and I was a big, always hungry infant.
I was a skinny child and at 40( and having two kids), I am still thin.
My son's pediatrician said the number 1 indicator that his patients will be overweight is if the parents are. Of course, that is not always the case, but I think that it is more habits and genetics than how they ate as infants.
This. That is why I think the studies are BS. You can always find links to thing but in the end I think it is all about you as adults eat and your genetic makeup. DH and I were both early eaters as babies. He eats like crap now and has the same metabolism as his mom. He will be thin forever based on them. I eat healthy and like my parents I am right in the middle at a healthy weight.

DS started with oatmeal at 4 months. I read the story in Newsday and it said those fed BEFORE 4 months were at higher risk.
