Baby blessing idea, need HONEST opinions :)
I am doing a baby blessing in couple of months for DS, at first I was just gonna do an elephant theme but then I thought maybe I could do something different? This is not a religious ceremony it is a blessing.
My husband is mostly African American and a little Native American, my background is mostly Irish so I was thinking of maybe framing quotes or poems from the different cultures and having them displayed as centerpieces with flowers. Maybe also have some symbols such as a claddagh, dream catcher, etc... Is this weird and not really a theme?
I love that my DS is multicultural and I kinda wanna play on that but I don't know if it is silly.
Is it too adult? Is there a way I can incorporate it organically or does it just not make sense? Or if you have any extra ideas to make it fun I would REALLY appreciate it!! I know you ladies are all so creative!!
TIA- please be honest, I don't mind, right now its just an idea

I love the idea of making it eclectic. I would maybe find different statues/items that reflect your backgrounds and use them as the CP and skip flowers altogether. Unless you want to find a bunch of similar vases/mason jars and decorate those with religious cultural items. Then the flowers would work and seem cohesive.

I don't understand how a blessing isn't religious.
Obviously, it doesn't have to be Christian but, isn't a blessing always religious/spiritual?
I think whatever religion or spirituality you are celebrating should be incorporated into the day so I would steer clear of an elephant theme, etc.
I like the idea of incorporating quotes from the different religions and spiritual ideologies you feel represent your family.

I should have clarified, I just mean it will be spiritual, not a specific religion.

So if I did this eclectic theme then I guess I am just wondering how the invites/favors would be? I don't want it to seem messy or disorganized..
