Okay, I have an idea, but I need opinions

Here it is: You know when you go to the salon and your hairdresser blows out your hair and it LOOKS JUST AWESOME!

Maybe I am challenged or something, but I can never do as well. I would love to go to a place or to my stylist and be taught and guided how to do it myself. I would pay for lessons.

I was thinking of emailing the salon I go to with my idea, maybe add this as a service? What do you think? Is it is stupid idea?

I think part of the problem is that, its harder to work on yourself...

Are you really close with your hair dresser/stylist? I have my colorist's home phone number...Chat Icon

Just ask her to show you next time you go there.

Totally true! But her hair looks great and she seems to do it on her own.

I am just trying to figure out the techniques. Know what I mean?

I am not that close with her.

Maybe next time, I'll ask her to watch me blow out my own hair and she can advise me. I bought the same brush she uses.

Re: Okay, I have an idea, but I need opinions

I would pay to learn how to make my hair look the way my stylist does----it is so frustrating when they do it and then you know you will never be able to make it look that good again!!!!!!

I would do this and ask her for tips and such -- I am sure that once you learn the right technique, it's just a matter of practice Chat Icon

Re: Okay, I have an idea, but I need opinions

My hairdresser has tried to teach me MANY times. I can never truly replicate it, but I have found that using salon products makes a BIG difference

I think practice really makes a difference. I think also if you dry your hair in small sections, it's better.
You can always ask them for tips and I'm sure they will tell you a few.
Best thing might be for you to go to one of those beauty schools. Maybe they can let you observe.

Re: Okay, I have an idea, but I need opinions

I think I am hair impaired, and I have just come to accept it. I actually have pretty great hair (if I do say so myself Chat Icon ) but I don't ever seem to have the time or patience to get it as good as the stylist does.

I think it is a good idea to ask her specifically how she is doing it. I did do that once and it helped. The stylist I have now asks me how much time I want to spend on it before she cuts it and then we discuss a style that will not take me a long time.

I have really curly hair so I have the opposite problem. Whenever I go to a salon, they keep saying, wow you have really curly hair and it ends up being pouffy. I usually go home and redry it.

I've mastered the skill of blowdrying my hair. My long hair takes me about 45 minutes. If I go to a salon for a blow out, I go to a domincan salon. Wash and blow dry$10.00

ETA. forgot to say. It is an excellent idea though. If I couldn't blow dry my hair, I'd so pay to learn!!!

In Freeport on Guy Lombardo drive. Forgot name of salon. It's on the corner. I'll edit post later with name. They are all spanish speaking but all you have to say is wash and blowdry and they understand. I go once monthly for deep conditioning treatment and that with wash and dry is $25.00
