Baby Bedding!

is going to be the death of me! I'm putting so much pressure on myself to pick out something PERFECT. We don't have a theme and I'd like to keep in simple. Of course the ones I prefer are $$. I try to justify it by telling myself we are saving in other areas like the furniture and we didn't have to paint the room. So I feel that the bedding set will make the room.

Is $395 a lot for a bed set (no quilt) and 2 window panels?

I think thats alot for a bedding set. Do you plan on using the bumpers? They personally scare me and I never used them. I used breathable bumpers.

IMO, yes, especially if you follow the AAP recommendation and don't use the bumpers.

I don't plan on using the bumper right away. I will use it later on.

IMO, I think thats a lot of $$.

I actually cut out the whole bedding set because 1) Im not gonna use the bumpers and 2) I will barely use the quilt either. Just didn't seem worth it in the end...even though I love the look of a baby bedding set!

I think it's a lot of $$. Bumpers scare me with nb's and older babies use them to try to climb out of their cribs. You're going to need several sets of sheets. Can you buy extras separately?

Yes. Spent over $300 on my DD's and we never used the bumper, skirt or quilt. Biggest waste of money IMO.

May I ask why you never used the skirt?

I purchased from BabyBedding.com.
I got a crib skirt & 2 drapery panels for a total of $211.50. The rest is seperates, I'm using breathable bumpers & crib sheets, no comforter.

Yes, it's pricey but exactly what I wanted!

It only clears the floor if the crib is on the lowest setting, which might not be for a year or so. Otherwise, it just gets stuck in the crib rails and it's a pain when you change the sheets.

The bumper can still be dangerous when they're older because kids use them to climb and can fall out of the crib. Chat Icon

If it fits your budget, go for it, but personally I think it's extremely expensive. That's almost $100/piece!

And you will want at least two sheets, if not 3.

Personally, I'd get 2 sheets, a crib skirt, and curtains. That's what I'd use and what's worth spending the money on IMO.

I tend to agree with the other girls. I think it's a bit pricey. But if you love it and its in your budget, then go for it.

However, I know exactly how you feel in regards to getting the "perfect bedding". I was so undecided on it for so long as well and then we were in BRU one day and saw it and fell it love (even though I had looked at their website like a zillion times by that point). Sometimes it just happens.

I agree! I spent more than $200 on my bedding set and didn't use any piece but the quilt. Big waste of money.

1. bumpers: I ended up not using 'cus it's dangerous to use unless it's the breathable kind

2. window panels: didn't work with our window size so didn't use

3. sheets: didn't like the feel of the sheet that came with the set so ended up buying 2 velour sheets.

Exactly. It gets stuck to the rails, and the bottom of the springs. Maybe because it was a fancy one that had ruffles..not sure. The set was fancy, so the quilt was not a soft comfy blanket either. It's been hanging over her rocking chair for two years.

That is a lot of money but totally worth it since this is a special time! I would check whether you’re really get value for your money. I think they’re a lot of crib bumpers that give you a lot more for that amount of money. For instance, I bought my animal king bedding set for just $300 and it includes a quilt, Hollywood bumper, dust ruffle, and crib sheet.

Re: Baby Bedding!

I personally don't think it's worth it. I bought a bedding set and I didn't use half of the pieces (bumpers, quilt, etc). I would've been fine with just buying 2 or 3 sets of sheets and a crib skirt. Plus, DS hated the crib so he didn't even sleep there very often.

Re: Baby Bedding!

I got a whole bed set 3 years ago for dd 1, left it on the crib for a little while... Until she started sleeping in it. After that, I never used anything but a sheet and breathable bumpers (which I've now heard mixed reviews about too.

Someone recently posted their bedding on here. It was a skip hop complete sheet. It had a skirt and the sheet looked decorative sort of giving it the look of a bumper.

Bedding sets are the biggest waste of money IMO. With DC #2 I am not getting a bedding set, I am just getting breathable bumpers and sheets. DD's set is still sitting in the closet since we did not use the comforter or the bumpers.

. ITA my dd set is in her closet too I only used the sheets. I'm only buying sheets this time around. For me it was a total waste of 200 bucks.
