I just stopped this week at almost 11 months. Once she stopped sucking on the handle of the cart I figured it was okay.
I also stopped when DS wouldn't put his mouth on it. It's always in my car, but I always forget!

I still use it but when both boys are in the car, I give the cover to Nicholas...

I think I stopped around a year?  It became too much of a PITA. I just wipe his hands down when I put him back in the car.
