ARUBA - Need some Hotel advice

I have been to Aruba 4X, stayed at the RIU prior to having my Son and the rest was at the Westin which is now RIU.

Want something in the high rise area, great pool for a 5 year old & nice rooms (Husband is super picky)

What is your favorite place to stay?

ARUBA - Need some Hotel advice

Hyatt and Marriott are great.

They also just opened up a Ritz Carlton within the last couple years.

Marriot Ocean Club or Surf. Both are time shares. We have been going since the boys were babies. Love that we have a kitchen and separate bedroom.
The pool is great. At the Surf Club they have a lazy river and fun waterslide my boys went on about 100 times. LOL! I personally like Ocean better bc it's not as crowded and there's more room on the beach. Surf gets crowded, but can't go wrong with either. Everything is walking distance and easy to eat at any of the restaurants at either time share or hotel and just charge to your room. Fun playground at Surf too we walk over to.

I was going to ask also about these two places. I really like a separate bedroom for when we put our Son to sleep we can still hang out.

I have only stayed at the main high rise strip, how far is this from there? Can you still come out of your Hotel and walk to all the restaurants?

We just stayed in a huge suite at the Radisson a couple of weeks ago and it was much nicer than we would have expected, but a lot of people had recommended it, so we decided to give it a shot. The rooms had been renovated within the last year and there were birds and fish that my son really enjoyed.

We stayed at the Ocean club last August. It was our first time taking DD to Aruba. We had only ever been as a couple. It was important to us to have a separate bedroom so DH and I could still enjoy our evening while DD went to sleep. The resort was nice but it's pretty far from the main strip. You can walk but it's far in my opinion. Next time I'd forgo the suite and stay at the Radisson or the Hyatt. Both are centrally located and everything is so close by. The Ritz is nice but it's the next resort past the Ocean Club so far in my opinion.

Re: ARUBA - Need some Hotel advice

I highly recommend the Radisson. It has the best location most central to walking to restaurants. The pool area is very nice and usually very not crowded. From my own research and experience, they also have the best reservation system for beach palapas- no need to wake up at dawn to try to get one.

The Radisson was just taken over (this week) by the Hilton. I'm waiting to hear the reviews. I'm booked there for November. I booked when it was still the Radisson. I hope there are no changes. We love the Radisson. I'm sure there will be some hiccups with the transition. I'm hoping they are worked out by the time we go.

Thank you everyone. I love staying on the main strip and just walking out of the hotel to grab dinner or walk around.

Will check out your suggestions. Chat Icon

My parents and then my friends JUST stayed a few weeks prior to the transition. They were assured by the players choice club that everything is staying the same-- at least for now. We LOVE the Radisson in Aruba and I really hope there aren't any changes...unless they make it better somehow HAHA.

Re: ARUBA - Need some Hotel advice

I just came back from Aruba last week. We stayed at the Hilton, I arrived the day the Radisson became the Hilton. There really were no problems what so ever.
Supposedly the Hilton has the best beach in the high rise district. It was absolutely beautiful. The hotel is in a great location a lot of great restaurants in walking distance.
Not sure as to when the Hilton would be doing renovations if they are planning on doing that.
The property has a few restaurants, a few pools, and the tropical birds are amazing.

We've stayed at the Hyatt, the Westin and the Marriott Ocean Club. The Marriott is a little bit farther from the main strip than the Westin but, not much.

And it's great to have the extra space and kitchen.
