Arrrg! Need an OB Rec for St. Charles.
I was about to make the switch to Stony Brook, when low and behold, we receive a letter stating that Aetna is in "negotiations" with Stony Brook and is currently not accepting them as a provider.
My next choice is St. Charles in Port Jeff. Any know of an OB/GYN affiliated with them? And also, how's the experience there?
I'm trying to avoid St. Catherine's at all costs.

I use Dr. Ninia in Port Jeff Station. His office is incredible. Both of my deliveries were at St. Charles and I loved it. I originally wanted Stony Brook, but he didnt affiliate with them. The second time around he did, but I still chose St Charles.
The security is great. The visiting hours are very limited so you don't have to entertain all day. They have two set times. One for grandparents and siblings in the afternoon and one at night for anyone. And the are strict with them. I love the little lojack they attached to my kids. If you get even close to an exit the alarm sounds and the place goes on lockdown.
The one con is you're not guaranteed a private room. With my first I had a roommate the second day, but it didn't really bother me because the visiting hours are so limited there wasn't a parade of people in and out. With my twins I paid a nominal fee per day and got my own suite! Well worth it.
If you happen to go with him, have your first appointment with Cecilia. She is awesome!!!

They also have a NICU unit so that was another plus.

Thanks so much. I actually don't mind the limited visiting hours.

My Dr. is Phyllis White. She shares an office with Gus San Roman. They are both awesome. And I loved St. Charles.
ETA: They also have a midwife - Michelle Mayer who is an absolute sweetheart if you want to go that way. I love, love, love her.
