Re: Argentine Breakfast???
Google tells me:
Breakfast in Argentina is strong espresso coffee, cafe con leche or yerba mate. Croissants, known as media lunas, are popular with rich butter or dulce de leche, a very sweet toffee like spread that is also eaten with brioches or facturas. Filled churros, similar to doughnuts, French bread with jam and butter, grilled sandwiches of ham and cheese known as "tostados" and sweet or salted coookies are also widely enjoyed. A popular breakfast drink is the submarino, which is a glass of steamed milk with a bitter sweet chocolate bar melted into it.
MMMM that sounds perfect!

Re: Argentine Breakfast???
Typical Argentine breakfast is strong coffee and pastry, I think.
You could do a chorizo frittata, maybe a "breakfast" style empanada.

omg, coffee & pastry! I love it! Now I understand why my mom never thought twice to giving me cookies & doughnuts as part of my breakfast as a kid.

Re: Argentine Breakfast???
So...how did it go? Next time, (hopefully there will be a next time this world cup) you can go to an Argentinian Bakery (there are a few in Queens) and get yummy Facturas (Argentinian Pastries). If there are any games on the weekends...I would suggest going to watch the game at Boca Juniors Steakhouse in Elmhurst. It was so much fun this weekend! Insane!!!

Re: Argentine Breakfast???
it went great.
I had churros, pan con mantequilla, espresso coffee and I make eggs con chorizo and I made potatoes to go with it.
we may yet get out to Queens for a game (we've been before) but I don't think I'll be going to Boca Juniors!! It has to be (almost) as bad as La Bombanera!!!!!!
