I tried the B&B too and don't see what the big appeal is either.

I LOVE B&B's!!!!!!Chat Icon
Whenever we go to VT, we always stay at one. It' so cozy, and what's really nice is when you have breakfast in the morning (which is always SO delicious), you really get to know the Innkeepers, they tell you stories about the great things to do in the town, the best little local restaurants & shops that "the tourists" don't really know about, and they tell you about their "crazy guest" stories!Chat Icon
I think I like the more personalized service of a B&B.Chat Icon

I prefer B&Bs and small resorts rather than large chains such as Sandals.

me either Rebecca!
FH isn't much of a talker though, and I'm not sure how social he'd be on "vacation"

Re: Bed and Breakfast Or Resort Hotels?

I love B & Bs...but you have to find the really nice ones.

THere's one in Bar Harbor, Maine that has an inground indoor swimming pool (in the huge home); before arriving the innkeepers ask what are you favorite drinks, cookies, etc. They are sure to have the bar in the pool area stocked with all your favorites...they make freshly baked cookies twice a day, and leave them out for you to munch on...I love the personal attention!
