are you taking an enema before delivery?
i went to a class at the hospital the other night and the nurse highly recommended it. THis way you are nice and cleaned out and wont have a fear of pushing

Ive had 3 deliveries...and have had to push out 5 babies..the only time I "let some slip" is with my oldest daughter. That was the only time I had the enema!!!

I wouldn't. They said it wasn't necessary and sometimes caused the opposite effect if you get my drift!!
And i didn't poop during delivery. I made the nurse tell me honestly and she swore up and down nothing happened...but you know what? Looking back i could have cared less. By the time you have your baby everyone has seen it all and you really don't think about it.

Agreed! I just don't care at this point. I already warned Dh, and he thinks it is funny!
I dont think I will care, or notice! DH is freaked out at the thought but oh well to him too!

Totally agree! I think I have gotten over the fear of it as my pregnancy has gotten further along..
My mom actually admitted to me that she pooped when she had me! She said it was no big deal! You have other things to concentrate on!!!!

Honestly...with all that happens that day - the poop is the least of any worries.
I was in la la land with the epi so when they came to take my temp (in the tushy the nurse smiled as she told me) I just rolled over.
When it came time to push - poop was far from my mind. BTW - it wasn't a problem anyway.

i heard you get diareha b4 you give birth usually happens at home so NO WAY!!! tell that lady to take it herself! Like you or anyone will want to be doing that when your having contrations... people!

thats true, the day before my water broke I would poop a lot and I even told my mom that maybe something was happening... the next day when my water broke I still had to poop couple of times... I think my body cleaned itself out before labor... sorry if tmi lol

I was induced and wound up having a c-section. I was given an enema, it was gross!!!! Luckily, they made DH leave, that would have been a breaking point I think

I thought about it but I'd be afraid of giving myself the non stop poops. I'll just try not to eat anything too "binding" in the days before. I don't know.

I think the nurse may be old-fashioned. My mom said at the time I was born they used to shave women down their and give them enemas in the hospital before they delivered. Thank heavens times have changed. I am definitely not taking an enema before delivery.
