i think i'm more like her everday - at least DH sees it, lol!
i definitely think i'm lucky to be like her - she is very strong, hardworking, energetic, intelligent, classy, she always does the 'right thing' and she's extremely eloquent - she always knows what to say and how to say it. on the flip side - she has a bit of a temper lol hell, she's irish - she can't help it! she worries a lot and i think that can get the best of her at times - but i do the same thing lol one of the ways we are similar. she can be pretty anal about stuff - again, we are a lot alike in that way too.
but, all in all - my mom rocks!
ETA: i'm also really happy/lucky to look like her and benefit from her good genetics in terms of my body shape - lol b/c sometimes i don't always eat the best and i don't work out as much as i should but i'm lucky enough to be fit and trim

Yes! I had friends that wanted to adopt my mom. Back in middle school and HS I would have said "Ummm no way"...I have grown up and Mom and I are like best friends.

It's a give and take for me and my mom. She was so impressed that I stood up in front of everyone at my SIL's baby shower (I'm a teacher, so standing up in front of people to speak has become the norm for me). But she is so much stronger than I am. I tend to fall to pieces when things get crazy, and she is the one to take action and remain calm. So we both have qualities we would like of each other's.

not really.... she creates drama when things aren't going her way, and doesn't really care to learn or try new things.
I am much more like my aunt (her sister / arch nemesis  ) I'm an academic who loves trying new things and experiencing new facets of life. I hate drama, and will concede rather than argue.....

When I was younger, I was a good mix about 50/50 of both my mom & dad's personality. As i have gotten older, I have become 100% my mom For me, it is flattering when someone says that bc my mom is such a genuine person
If you ask DH though, he tells me that I am still my dad....Especially when it comes to being stubborn
