I treat my good friends like family...but there is no one except SO that i talk to everyday.

well, i think i would say that i am, but the only people i talk to every day are my DH and my mom. i speak to my two very close friends about once a week, but they have the same "friend" style as me, and we only get together about 1x or 2x a month, so it works for us.

but if any of my friends, close or not, were to need anything from me, i would be there in a heartbeat.

so i guess i could say that i am selfish with my time but generous with my heart.

It used to be all or nothing with me - I was either the best friend in the world, or cut people out of my life.

Now I realize that I can have degrees of friendship with differing degrees of dedication also.

But I have a very low tolerance for fakeness and lies. Once I suspect that, that's the beginning of the end for me.

I think I am or at least I try to be. I don't call alot but I do the checkup call to see how everything is. They know I am there for them 24-7 if they need me.

I think it's a hard question to answer for yourself.

I am generally a nice person and can be friendly. I make acquaintences fairly easily and can hang with just about anyone.

that being said, I chose FRIENDS and confidants very selectively.

but to those select few, I am fiercely loyal to and protective of.

I like to think of myself as reliable in a crisis and will be there for my friends in they need me.

but I am also very solitary. I have to be in the "mood" to talk on the phone, or even in person. I do not do well with "high-maintenance" people in general and have very little tolerance for it in a friend.

I don't even like myself when I am feeling high-maintenance!

so, to someone who can tolerate me as a friend, I am a good one. to someone who needs something different, I suck.

I think I am....I am not big on the phone but I do IM / email almost every day and I would be there in a heartbeat if anyone needed me!

I am a GREAT friend(I think anyway ) and I have a few great friends also-the number is getting smaller(eh people grow apart, etc.) but i am also meeting new friends so it evens out. I am taking applications though!

I consider myself to be a very good friend to those who are close to me.If it is my realm of ability, I am always there when one of my friends needs help or someone to talk to. I am perceptive, so I am often aware of my friends needs, and will offer assistance before they ask. However, this applies to a handful of people who are very close to me. People who are not as close may not perceive me this way, b/c I am somewhat shy and reserved and try not to over-step boundaries if I don't think a relationship is at that level.

I only have about one friend who I talk to everyday (whether it be on the phone, text message, email, whatever). I am not a needy friend, but this particular person is truly my bestest friend ever and I don't know where I'd be without her.

However, for the remainder of my friends I try to be good about droppin a line to make sure all is copasetic. However, don't expect me to make all the effort because it won't happen.

I will drop anything and everything for my friends at the drop of a hat if asked/needed.

But please don't ask me to go to a club, or bar, or some other place that I should be 18 to get into. I'm out of that phase and have zero desire to go back. And if that makes me a bad friend, then go find a new one.

I used to be the best friend a person could have. In fact, Ican't tell you how many dates with DH I cut short or blew off because a friend needed me.

Nowadays, not so much. I am so busy with work and Jordana, that I have really started focusing on my family more. Fortuneately for me, so have many of my friends, so they understand.

I think I am. I have a lot of friends so sometimes I cant be there for all of them, but I am always trying to help and I am the one you can call at 3am and would never ever hear me complain and I do not ever judge my friends on their actions, even if I dont agree. I try to be supportive as possibly...and I have gotten thank yous for being a good friend and it makes me feel good b/c its what I strive to be in my friendships.

Sometimes yes and sometimes no. It depends on the person and the situation. I've had many friends take advantage of my good natured ways and now I have my guard up. I'll do anything to help a friend, but I don't always find them to be reciprocal when I need something. I could count my close friends on a few fingers.
