Applying make up
do you use special brushes when you apply your make up or do you use the brush that comes with the eye shadow and blush

Re: Applying make up
Real brushes. Most of what I buy doesn't come with brushes but those that do aren't usually very good.

Re: Applying make up
the applicators that come with make up usually suck- especially drug store make up
I found that Sephora sells nice sets that aren't too $$$

Applying make up
I use a great set of brushes I got at Duane Reade by Eco Tools. They are super inexpensive and awesome. I hate the brushes that come with the makeup...they suckk IMO

Re: Applying make up
I don't use any brushes. I use my fingers; they blend the color so much better than any brush or applicator.

Applying make up
It's so funny, I read this and I cannot remember the last time I bought a tube of lipstick. I have only bought gloss for the past 8 years or so. LOL.

Re: Applying make up
I use Sephora brushes as well. I prefer certain types of angles, fullness, hardness/softness depending on what I'm doing/shading.
I also have a few brushes that came with kits from higher end makeup brands.

Applying make up
I have a set of eyeshadow brushes that I use b/c all eyeshadow applicators suck.
Face powder and blush -- Depends on the brand. Right now I use the brush/applicator that it came with (Clinique)

Re: Applying make up
Most of my brushes are from Mac. I don't remember the last time I bought e/s or blush that came with an applicator, but regardless I'd use my Mac brushes. A makeup artist once told me your products are only as good as the tools you use to apply them!!

Applying make up
I use brushes from bare minerals BUT I found comparable brushes at Target by e.l.f. And they are super inexpensive $1-$5 depending on the brush. The make-up isn't so bad either!

Re: Applying make up
I never use a lip brush. I have tried, & it doesn't seem to make much difference for me.
Do you use foundation or loose powder? I recently started using brushes for those & instead of fingers/puff) and it is so much better.
Also, if you wear more than one shade of eye shadow, a flat brush is good for applying, and a fluffier one is good for blending them.

I use the brush set from MAC. The ones that comes with the shadow doesn't work for me.

the only time I've ever had my makeup done by a professional she applied my lipstick with a brush and it stayed on a lot longer than I can usually keep lipstick on. But I really can't be bothered to use a brush myself.

Re: Applying make up
I use my fingers for eye shadow, but I just started using a brush that is used for blending concealer and love it for shadow!
I have sephora brushes for foundation and blush. I blend my beneFit high beam with a brush as well.

Re: Applying make up
Several years ago, I invested in all high-end brushes but never replaced them when their time had come so I didn't use brushes for quite some time and used my fingers and a cheapy eyeshadow and blush brush. Then I discovered the ELF Studio Brushes and for the virtual pennies they cost - they are awesome!!!

Re: Applying make up
I actually just posted this on FHF, but I got a great deal on Living Social. 24 make up brush set with carrying case and free shipping for $29. It retails at $175. I couldn't pass it up!
