applying for new jobs is painfully exhusting...
and the sites ask such dumb questions. If you have a post degree obviously that would mean I graduated high school but they still want to know what degree I graduated with
and when you provide the info of your current job and mark off still employed, it wants to know when the job ended... it didn't end Im still employed there
I decided to look for a new job, the people I work with are nasty.....I'll say no more. They focus on what others are doing instead of paying attention to their job. The straw that broke the camels back was how I as treated last month after my accident. I dont need this kind of stress and feeling unhappy.
I feel like I get so few calls to even interview.
based on a post here I sent my resume to Green Key in Melville too.

this! I will add at my last job if anyone took a day be it sick, vacation, personal you will always find at least one employee who gets all pissy. They hate being inconvenienced with the possibility of getting a little more work. AND some think when others are truly injured they are milking the system. Happens everywhere. People suck

I thought you retired and no longer working.
I no longer give certain info until I am offered the job. NYS jobs violate laws when they ask for your DOB on the application. They should be ashamed!! I am always temped to report them.
Also, when it asked what salary I am looking for I now write to be discussed when offered the position or during job interview. I also stopped putting down what I now earn. I decided if they really want to know they can research it. I want to add I just stared doing this.

Re: applying for new jobs is painfully exhusting...
i feel your pain on both fronts.
i hate my job. it's a family-owned company and they bring their family dysfunction to the work day.
i hate job hunting. i've been doing it for a couple of months and it's demoralizing. i had a company call me back because they felt i better fit a position that i hadn't applied for... i went on and on about how my experience was residential and not commercial. they asked... rather begged... me to apply anyway. after they got my new application, they replied that they couldn't consider me because i didn't have commercial experience

Re: applying for new jobs is painfully exhusting...
I always look for PT or if see something very interesting, I apply. No call backs and I'm starting to worry about all of my info (including resume) floating around out there! I never give salary info and the DOB thing is probably a wise idea as a PP mentioned. I casually look, but I do wonder if I will ever work again.

I'm sorry, I don't mean to make light of your job hunting problems, but that part just made me

I plan to start looking - sooner than later but I am pregnant I have had luck on Zip Recruiter and Indeed, but the market is terrible. I'm not going to accept $35k per year with 10 years experience and a BA.

Re: applying for new jobs is painfully exhusting...
Going through this with my DH now. He has applied for so many jobs. He is 58 years old. No one wants to hire him. He is just about done with his masters and has years of experience (project mgr). I really think its his age. No one wants to hire someone that close to retirement. They don't even need your DOB. All they need to see is when you graduated college. So frustrating and upsetting.

I work for a manufacturing company and we need PM's - we just hired a guy in his 50s a few months ago. PM me a resume or his info and I will pass it along.

I am in IT and we hire PM's of all ages. I don't think we are hiring in the NY region right now, but I'll keep my ears open!

Just noticing that no one has asked op what she does , what type of job she needs, what her experience is, etc. Another poster mentioned her DH and there are several questions and offers about him. Find it interesting.

Oh come on don't try to start drama.
As for the OP (or anyone else) we are looking for an A/R person and we are based on the East End if that is something you are interested in.

DH has been going through this for the past YEAR. He's in a specialized field in entertainment, and is looking to branch out. It's so frustrating. The worst is when he applies for a job he seems like he would be a great fit for only to receive a rejection letter less than five minutes later.
