Anyone's DH taking off time once the baby is born?

My parents will be staying with us for a month or so after Chat Icon is born but DH has accumulated a few weeks vacation/personal time and was thinking of having him take that time off to stay with me and the baby for a few weeks once he's born. What are your DH's doing?

My DH stayed home for a week. If I were you maybe have him stay home for a few days but then maybe wait until your parents leave. I felt more at ease with less people around. Kinda like too many cooks in the kitchen

My DH will be taking off 1 week. I agree with PP I would probably get overwhelmed if there were to many people trying to help at the same time.

My DH will be taking off a week, we did the same with dd. DH also has now worked out a deal with his company to work from home 2 days a week so this will be really helpful for me.

DH plans on taking 3 weeks off. He's really excited, with dd1 I was really late and he was only off a couple of days. This time around I have a c/s scheduled so he'll be home?

You girls are probably right. I might get overwhelmed with too many people helping out...maybe I'll just have DH take off one week and save his time for when my parents leave. Chat Icon

Luckily DH works at a college and has the option to take the summer sessions off. So he will be taking the second summer session off. We will both be off for July and August. I am looking foward to all the time, the three of us.Chat Icon

DH will be taking 1 week, and then will see about working the following week from home, if they allow him to.

DH has accumulated enough personal time that he will have five weeks off once the baby comes. I cannot wait!

Re: Anyone's DH taking off time once the baby is born?

My husband is taking the week that I have the baby. I will most likely have my c-section on March 20th. He will take off the 19th through 23rd. Mostly to help get DD ready in the morning and on the bus while I am in the hospital!

Dh will be taking off for a week. Both moms want to stay and help out but to be honest, I'd rather just try to do it on my own from the getgo

We were just talking about this. He isn't sure how much accumulated time he is allowed to take, but it will be at least 2 weeks.

My hubby gets 2 weeks paternity leave (it will be nice since with DS he didn't have much time with him since he started a new job two days after I came home from the hospital)

Re: Anyone's DH taking off time once the baby is born?

with my Chat Icon, my husband took off a month.

This time around Chat Icon, he's only taking off a week. A month was too long last time and we'd rather have him take off those 3 extra weeks once i go back to work to ease the transition. Chat Icon

DH is taking 2 weeks again. We'll probably send DC#1 to his grandparent's house for the first week too.
