Anyone TTC the old fashioned way?

No temping, OPTs, CM analysis, etc...

I haven't done any of this yet. DH thinks we should just do it the old fashioned way (lots of BD) and see what happens. He actually got upset at me when I started looking into OPTs.

i see no reason why you shouldn't give that a shot for at least 6 months before you look into other options, especially if you are young enough to have the luxury of time on your side and don't have any other issues like really irregular periods or some previously diagnosed gynecological problem. in fact, that is exactly what my OBGYN told me to do...ounfortunately, i ran into a whole slew of problems, but that's not too common. you should be fine! good luck!!

we kinda are....I've been keeping track of things (nothing more than marking when AF shows up and when I think I've "O'd" and I write down when we BD (in case it works!!)

I haven't done anything more. We're only on our first cycle so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

We only tempted...nothing else. But tempting showed us when I O'd after I had already done so. I did it to figure out when I was O'ing.

So basically we did do it the old fashioned way.

we did this the last time..and it worked! and plan on doing it again without using anything!!

We kinda of did that in the beginning, but after some time had passed we decided to TTC using OPK's and BD every other day. I think most people here do it "the old fashion way", but after a few months of BFN they tend to step it up.

Honestly, if I felt I was not against a clock and if my cycles were regular-- I would have maybe felt differently about it.

I needed to know what was happening with my cycle and using the tools helped me to figure out what was happening with my body.

Yes, that's what we are doing.

This is our 3rd cycle "letting nature take it's course". I am actually kinda - sorta avoiding actively TTC this particular cycle because I'd prefer to get pregnant next cycle (hoping for a spring baby ).... but not preventing. So if it happens - great.

If it doesn't happen next cycle, I will probably try OPK's at that point (it would be my 5th TTC cycle) because I don't want to wait much longer.

We tried that before we got PG with DS and it didn't work for us. As soon as I used the OPK, I got PG.

We are just BDing and see what happens, if it is meant to happen it will happen. I have been keeping track of AF using MMC so that I would have an idea of what was going on myself but I always have a 28-29 day cycle so there aren't any surprises there. I also don't think that DH is ready to start doing anything other than seeing what happens for right now.

We did. I knew when I was O'ing and just made sure we BD'd when it was happening. Good luck!

For the first 3 months we did it the old fashioned way and then I started using OPK, temping, charting, etc.

We are for now. I am just charting to get an idea about my cycles but for now I think we'll just see what happens. I think if I don't get a BFP in a few cycles, I'll get a little more proactive.

Yup. I did. It didn't work. I don't think you should jump into all the temping and OPK's right away. I didn't let myself use those things until 7 months. Try to enjoy it in the begining.. because if it doesn't happen for a while you will have to do those things and they make it SOOO stressful!

We are. I'm just paying attention to my cycle and BDing around O time. I don't want to start using sticks, etc. for a few more cycles.

Nope. I just ordered my CBEFM b/c I'm 33 and I want to get this show on the road!

I'm doing it the old fashioned way. Worked twice before (unfortunately ended in m/c).

Only thing I check is the days that I should be ovulating on a website and then BD for those days.

I am the opposite. I am using OPKs for the next few months (not officially TTC yet) to get to know my cycles in order to prevent pregnancy. After that it's going to be old fashioned whoopee making till AF stops knocking on my door!

Honestly, I went to the store and got the OPT's, but then I started making myself crazy.
So DH and I decided to "wing it" for now and hope and pray for the best!
