Anyone still use a clothesline?
I want to put one in the yard but DH isn't to fond of the idea. I told him I wouldn't hang out underwear out there
Just curious if anyone still uses them.

my MIL does.
I'll sometimes hang heavy items outside to dry (mainly towels) but I don't have a clothesline.

When we get a house, I want one! For now, I will use a drying rack. But one thing I do is toss the stuff in the dryer for 10 minutes so that they aren't stiff when they are finished drying on the rack.

the house we just bought has one in the backyard but it's pretty beat up. I love the idea of a clothesline though so we plan on replacing it with a new one.

my mom and MIL both still use it. I think I would too if my WM wasn't in the basement.
I feel like everyone growing up had one and now no one does.

my neighbors do and i have to say its not a cute as you think when you have to look out your door to underwear and bras every day!
Blankets and towels are nice to be dried out via air but remember you have to iron everything you put out there.

We have a make shift one (we have two poles and my DH put a line between them) and have been using it during the summer. We figure it saves us a few bucks. We would like to get a real one, but that is probably not happening anytime soon. My MIL also uses a clothesline.
ETA: Underwear and socks we put in the dryer. They barely take any time at all to dry.

I have something similar to this.
the pole fits into a tube which is set in cement in my grass. So when we are having people over I can pull it out, fold it up & put it in the shed.
Its positioned in my yard so my neighbors can't see it.
Its great for towels.

I grew up with one, and really wanted one for our house.
DH just bought me one like this, but instead of green it's silver.
Before that I was using drying racks. It was a pain to put them out on the patio.
The sun dries our clothes so quickly. He was against the idea of line drying outside, until all of our stuff was dry in a couple of hours.
I don't hang my bras and underwear on it. Mostly shorts and shirts that we dont want to shrink in the dryer.

My aunts neighbor does & has no shame in what she hangs. We all got to see this for ourselves at the last family party. 
My mo mwill jsut putthe foldign rack outside, it's ower, so neighbors can't really see it.
I only have a front yard (co-op) , so I hang my clothes in the 2nd bedroom.

There really is no other way for me
dh hates it, so as soon as the clothes is done drying I just cut it down (twine from the $1 store).
During the winter I used the racks I got at BBB.

yikes!
she needs to get some quick growing leyland cypress for privacy. leave one on her door step with a nice note suggesting she gets a couple more
