Anyone not wait until your 6 week PP visit to DTD?
DD is 6 weeks old today..and Dh and I have been holding off on actually DTD..but it's been hard. My dr. said "nothing in the v-- until i saw you at your 6 week followup and give you the go ahead" I had a c-section..and feel more than ready for it tho. My appt is May 26th..the only one available. Just wondering if everyone really waits..

With Rylan I waited until my 6 week appt. It was my first time having a baby and wasn't going to take the chance and ruin anything down there...lol. I didn't wait the 6 weeks after Xavier though.

You may feel great after c/s (I know I did!) but think about all those layers of tissue that were cut to get your baby out. It needs time to heal. i would listen to the doc and wait. it may not be as enjoyable as you think it will either

Re: Anyone not wait until your 6 week PP visit to DTD?
I would wait. Not to scare anyone, but a nurse told me of someone needing a hysterectomy because they did not wait. I'm sure this is a very rare thing to happen, but why chance it. The risk of infection is why they tell you to wait. You have waited this long, I would wait to get the ok from your doctor.

I waited. And it was not enjoyable the first few times! If you are still bleeding, don't. The concern is infection. Also with a c/s, you need to heal. Once you do, unless you want to get PG again, use BC and definitely use lube. I never thought with a C/S I would have trouble, but I did.

We started at 4 weeks....but beware.....as the dr told me you are highly fertile at this point so you could easily wind up PG at that point.

Same thing with me. The first couple times were a little painful for me. I had a c-section. We waited the 6 weeks too, even though my OB gave me the clearance at 4 weeks. DH was a little uncomfortable until 6 weeks.

I didn't wait. I felt great after my c/s too and pretty much picked up regular activity. Well, at my 6 week appt my incision was infected and I had no idea. It took 2 weeks of antibiotics for the infection to go away, and then the incision opened up. Maybe I should have waited!
ETA: Not that I think DTD caused all the problems.

I waited 4 weeks. I had aCS, and had not had sex since 11/15, DS was born 1/24. I didn't care if Jesus was telling me not to, I was getting some!

I delivered DD vag...so I waited. But keep in mind that the first 6 weeks pp are the most fertile you will be. That is another thing to consider.

I didn't wait with either pregnancy, but it was only like a week early both times.

Re: Anyone not wait until your 6 week PP visit to DTD?
We didn't wait...We ended up holding out until only 4 weeks PP & when I went for my 6 week checkup, the Dr asked if we waited...I told her nope & she laughed...She told me since it was a section, if I felt good, there was no harm done
