Anyone NOT planning on using a bassinet?

I'm wondering if it is really worth it to get a bassinet - my bedroom is right next to the baby's room - is there any problem in putting the baby right in the crib from the start?

I put DS in a crib from the start and it was fine. I think we all slept better because of it and he never had to transition to a crib. I plan to do the same with this baby.

I have no intentions of using a bassinet. Our bedroom is directly behind the nursery & i feel that I want our children to get use to their cribs right away so we don't have to do a transition....

we're getting a co-sleeper thingy that will be next to the bed - as the nursery is far away from our bedroom (as far as it can be in a 2 bedroom apartment).

I am using the crib from the very start. It will go in our bedroom for now, then as soon as we find a house it will go in his room.

We're using the bassinet from a pack n play, but only for the first couple weeks, then hes going into his crib. I know many people that didn't use a bassinet, our rooms are just very far apart so we wanted a schedule first.

we aren't... the baby's room is close enough. Didn't feel the need to clutter our bedroom more than it probably already will be.
