Anyone know anything about setting up a wireless network at home?

I'm trying to get my wireless network up and running at home and it's just not working. I can't seem to connect to the network I created.

I can see it as an available network but when I go to connect to it, I get a message saying "the settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network".

Please help me fix this problem!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

did you look at the network settings on the computer? Do you have it set to find networks?

Yes, and I can even see my network but for some reason it's saying my computer is not set up for it.

Did you run the network wizard?

Or...from the original computer you can create network disk and then put the network disk into the 2nd computer.

I did this with a USB flash drive and for some reason, unbeknownst to me it won't run.

Thank you for helping me, you have no idea how FRUSTRATED I am!!

Linksys router

my laptop (if that's what you're asking) Acer.

There really weren't any instructions with the router.

Are you still trying? My husband has helped a few people do this. He might have a trick or 2 up his sleeve. I know he's done at least 1 linksys router.

You probably have some security set up on the router and don't realize it. I would go through all the security settings to see what is configured. Your laptop has to match the security settings that the router is looking for.
