Anyone know about Jacksonville, FL?
DH and I repeatedly talk about moving off of LI and out of NY. We don't know where we'd like to go. DH's job (wall st. firm) has built an office bldg in Jacksonville, FL and has started hiring down there but also relocating some people. He was recently asked if he'd be interested in moving down there. He'd then be working in a different role.
Anyone know about Jacksonville, FL? I know nothing about it and am not sure how to find the info I'd need. I have never been in that part of FL. It would be a good opportunity to leave NY though so I really want to give it some thought based on info about schools, areas, economy, population, cultural things like museums, etc,
ETA: bumped bc this is suddenly looking like a real possibility and it would happen within the next few months. Exciting but so scary too!

Anyone know about Jacksonville, FL?
My friend's family located there from Huntington while we were in college and they are very happy there. My friend joined them after we graduated college (we went to HS and college together) and is still there with her three kids and has no plans to leave. There are some really nice areas there.

My aunt and uncle moved down there years ago. First they lived in Orange Park, then Ponte Vedra Beach, and now moved down to Palm Coast. They are very happy. It's a beautiful area. My aunt is a teacher there, and seems happy with her schools.

My sister moved there from li. She loves it!
She is about 10 minutes from the beach and there is a lot to do!

My BFF moved there with her family and lived in the area for over 15 yrs.
The city itself has a very high crime rate, but the surrounding suburbs are really nice!
She lived in the Orange Park area and her parents went on to live in St. Augustine.
I can get specifics from her or put you in touch with her if you'd like.
ETA: She attended Middle School and HS there and had kids in Elementary School. She moved to Louisiana last year.
