Anyone have SPD?
Per dr google, I have this. SPD
I have severe pelvic bone pain. It hurts a lot when I'm sleeping. Hurts to walk. And forget about stairs.
Has anyone experienced this? My dr mentioned last time that my bones would spread and I'd have pain but never mentioned any type of therapy like it was an issue.

Re: Anyone have SPD?
It's terrible! It said that early diagnosis is important. I have to go to the dr at some point his week anyway. It just worries me since he said I'd have bone pain like this and to just take Tylenol. (which does nothing).

Re: Anyone have SPD?
sorry to hijack but I had it with my last pregnancy. It was so bad and painful. Not much they could do, try to rest the best you could (I know so hard to do). I was fine once I had the baby

Crashing as well. This happened to me as well starting at about 5 months. Nothing much i could do besides tylenol. I was also told to keep stretching the muscles around it. Went away immediately after i gave birth..

Re: Anyone have SPD?
Thanks! I'm glad to hear it goes away after birth. And I'm having a cs so I won't have to deal with labor. I'm on bedrest now (pretty much modified) so I'm not that active to begin with. Aghhh. One more month!!

Re: Anyone have SPD?
Omg! I am thinking I might have this as well. Woke up on Thursday with horrible pain in my left butt cheek, can barely walk. And every once in awhile it feels as though the joints of my pelvis/thighs are about to give out on me. I am so sorry you are going through this too, I wouldn't wish this on anyone! I have a dr appt. coming up early next week too. If he has any great tips on how to deal with it, I'll let you know! Feel better!

I had sciatica on my right side earlier in my pregnancy, but this feels different. No numbness or tingling, and the pain doesn't radiate down my leg at all. It's really just smack in the middle of my butt cheek, for lack of a more lady like way to describe it, lol. And it really only hurts when I walk.
Whatever it is, it hurts! I sympathize with all of you and whatever aches and pains you're experiencing!

Re: Anyone have SPD?
This is more of pain in the pubic or pelvic bones. Its the 2 sides of the pubic bone separating more than it should be. It hurts when I sleep even. It's even hard to turn over at night because it feels like broken bones.
Butt cheek pain sounds like muscle pain. Eek. I've had a series of pains that have come and gone through the pregnancy. Sciatic, random groin muscle pain, numb leg burning pain, pressure.. But this one is the worst!!

Sounds like something I've been experiencing, but once I get up and walk around a bit I do feel better, so maybe it's not the same thing....

Re: Anyone have SPD?
I had a lot of pain earlier on that read exactly like spd. I couldn't stand on one leg, etc. it was so obviously my pubic bone, in the front and back.
Everything I read said that in the UK and Australia the drs take it very seriously, however in the US, they won't really recognize it....
I dug out my yoga ball and started doing stretches every night. In fact, bc I was on my feet all day today I started feeling pain, so I am sitting on the ball right now. It has really helped.
Good luck!

This was my drs reaction. I had it occasionally back when I asked him about it around 27 weeks and he blew it off. It's gotten really really bad where I can't walk or roll over and get out of bed so I googled and it's what he explained with the relaxin and separation so he must think I have it.
I'm going to try some exercises and if it doesn't work I'll try to find a pt.
I guess this means we can't do zumba anymore, huh? Lol

lol oh damn! But we were such zumba pros! haha - with Cole it got so bad I needed a step stool to get into our Jeeps. Just a little embarassing lol! I'm sure I'll be at that point again soon! It must be so much worse for you though with two babies!

If I didn't have running boards I'd never get in my truck. I have more of a hard time getting out of DHs car.
And yeah my babies are big (not abnormally big but about 4 lb each) and one is laying right on my cervix and bones.

Re: Anyone have SPD?
I had it really, really bad starting very early in the 2nd tri. I could barely walk, climb stairs, and rolling over in bed was next to impossible. I complained about it at every doctor appt., and they just told me it was normal. It went away about a week after I gave birth.

Re: Anyone have SPD?
I feel your pain, literally, lol. And my legs/ankels and feet swell to elephanitis proportions halfway through the day.
Even on good days it still feels like someone punched me in the hooha
I just keep counting down the weeks until the end, lol. Unfortunately the only thing that helps a little is rest, which I don't get much of.

Re: Anyone have SPD?
I *think* I might have that as well. I'm 27 weeks, and just started getting this awful pain in my lower right back, right above my butt cheek. It's terrible - I can't bend over at all. Poor DH has to tie my shoes! From what I've read, there really is no cure - you just have to wait it out.

LOL I have ballet flats with stretchy backs (so they stay on) and I've been having DH pull the backs on for me. He made a commend about Al Bundy in the shoe store and he's lucky I was in too much pain to kick him

Yeah my Dr said A is laying on my cervix, bones and bladder. I guess there is not room to lay anywhere else.

Re: Anyone have SPD?
yes! but totally self diagnosed. i absolutely love my doctor but he didnt say much except smile and say i know dear, all part of pregnancy. i completely feel your pain. its very upsetting because its so painful and could hardly move at times. the smallest of movements hurts. i am scared, feeling like it will only get worse as the weeks go on, but i realize there is not much as i can do. when i was researching, the only real thing that stood out is some people buy a pelvic support belt which you can easily google and buy. others went to physical therapy but this would involve getting your obgyn or regular doctor to first recognize the issue, lol...which seems to be a problem with a lot of doctors. i have this coupled with sciatica now so im like totally disabled some days. i wish i could give you more positive news but atleast you know you are not alone.
eta: i have it much more in between my upper inner thighs but from reading like you did, it all stems from the pelvic area and some people it just comes out differently in.
