Anyone have a UPromise card?
Do you think it's worth it?

Yes, and yes. We have had it for years. It's free money and we have transferred most of it to a 529, so it's guaranteed.

The interest rates seem a little high, no?

i have a UPromise card that i use at king kullen and BBB. it puts money into my nonexistant child's account. we figure even though it's only earning us a few dollars a year, why not?
what interest rates though? do they have a credit card as well?

Re: Anyone have a UPromise card?
If you are talking about the savings card, not the credit card, yes it's worth it. Although I don't know why it wouldn't be since it's free
I don't roll mine over into a 529 though, I request a withdrawal and they send me a check.

I just enrolled in it...After speaking to my SIL about it, I think it is a good way to get the ball started for my future kids...

Re: Anyone have a UPromise card?
We have had UPromise accounts for quite a few years now. It may not be much, but it's essentially free money for buying what we normally buy. We have our Visa cards tied to it. Gas goes towards it. Sometimes we pick out restaurants that are associated. It adds up after a while.

Re: Anyone have a UPromise card?
I have just the savings account which is linked to my credit cards and debit cards. When I shop at certain stores I get a percentage back into my UPromise account.
Also you can link your stop 'n shop card, cvs card, wladbaums card etc to the account.
Although we don't have children yet and therefore don't have 529 accounts set up yet I figured why not start saving if it's free.
eta just go to upromise.com, it explains it all there
