The babies eat a TON!
Now that we're mostly organic, we're also mostly broke!
They are 13 months (almost) and larger portion sizes than my 3 year old. For example, on Saturday for breakfast they shared 3 scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of whole wheat toast and 1/2 a large naval orange. For lunch they each had a bowl full of homemade chicken noodle soup (with tons of chicken and whole wheat fusili!!!) and then 2 homemade mini blueberry muffins each AND some applesauce. For dinner, they each eat 1 chicken drumstick, probably 1/3 cup of brown rice each and then a handful of green veggies.
breakfast!

Sounds normal to be eating more at that age with walking etc. But I would focus on quality over quantity. Sounds like he could be missing a nutrient that his little body just needs. Between vitamins and good food I think he will level out. My LO eats lots but we always do lots of veg and fruit. I'd mention it to the ped. It's likely a spurt, but 3 hot dogs is a bit much. He will shoot up soon.
well he's not walking yet.
And like i said before, he gets plenty of fruits, veggies and meat each day.

DS is 22 months and has been like this forever. He is 95% for height, 85% for weight. He is not overweight, so the ped is not concerned. As an example, yesterday it went something like this:
breakfast- 7:30 AM- a yo toddler yogurt, a banana, 1 whole blueberry waffle, some mango snack around 10- kashi cereal bar, a whole apple lunch- noon- 2 bowls of annie's mac and cheese mixed with peas, mango, another yo toddler yogurt 3:00 snack- whole wheat bread and baby carrots that he dipped in hummus, raisins dinner- 2 bowls of my homemade chicken noodle soup, a cheese stick, cucumbers, and raspberries for dessert. plus he drank milk with breakfast and dinner.
