We were so lucky all three times! I have horrendously irregular periods so the first try with #1 was totally off base timing-wise. Once I started temping / using opks to narrow down the time, I got pregnant first month with all three.
I come from hearty stock (one of 5 kids, my mom is one of 9, dad one of 7 and i'm one of 28 grandkids on my mom's side).
Hence the tubal ligation after this one

With DS, I got pregnant the first month after going off the pill. We just BD every other day from CD 10 on.
This time, I tried the same approach the first month, but didn't get pregnant. We took a break the next cycle because I was very sick. The next cycle (2nd month actually trying) I decided to chart and got pregnant.

At 34 y.o. took a year to get pg with DS (plus one miscarriage)
At 38 y.o. got pg first month ttc
Go figure- very shocked this time around. First time OPK's, temping, ect. This time just OPK. Try not to sweat it at this point-you just might turn out to be one of the lucky ones! Good luck!

i did, x2! i think the issue with the TTC board is that the the longer the posters are there, the more recognizable they become. it makes it SEEM like everyone is having a hard time.. but many ppl try then leave the board pregnant.. or perhaps never even start posting bc they get pregnant fairly quickly.

I got pregnant with DD when i messed with my birth control to avoid having AF on my vacation. With #2 i tried the OPKs for 2 months and it was frustrating because i wasn't getting positive OPKs and when i thought i was ovulating DH hated the scheduled BDing. So in December i decided to wing it because there was so much going on i couldn't be bothered with trying to figure it out and it happened. I have no idea when i ovulated but i'm pretty sure we conceived on Christmas Eve morning.
Its easier for some than others. For me personally i feel that when we weren't trying so hard it happened.

Have been pregnant 3 times.
My DD was a surprise but I know I got pregnant the first month I started the natural planning, tracking my AF ...
The next 2 we were TTC but nothing really crazy, no charting, no temping, just tracking my AF and got pregnant the first month of TTC with both.

with DD#1 it took us 8 months
with DD#2 it took us about 22 months.... but we were just doing it whenever

I came of bcp on dec 9th. Pretty much two weeks later we conceived! We were only married a month, so I actually went through a worldwind of emotions. But after reading the ttc board, I to got scared being that i'll be 30 soon. Plus it took my mom 7 yrs to have me. I would have sworn the odds were against me!! I wanted nothing to do with charting, temp, etc...

We got pregnant on the first month we really didn't protect ourselves. We were kind of doing the whatever happens.
If you dont want to temp and everything, I say just do whatever at first and then if it's not happening, you can get more proactive.
The thing with me is I wasn't temping, but I knew when I Oed because after my 2 miscarriages (when I was younger), I read up and became VERY in tune with my body.
So I knew the day we did it that I Oed.
I think it's helpful and useful to get to know your body and be aware. No temping but I knew from EWCM and O pains and cycle length.

First month trying for both DS and DD. I think I might have made one post on TTC. There are a lot of girls who never even end up posting on TTC. Good luck and have fun.
