Anyone Else Phone Shy?
i HATE using the phone!!!!!
i get anxiety while it rings on hte other line.
i only have 5 people i am ok wiht talking to.
my mom, dh, and 3 of my best friends.
otherwise, i hate it!

I'm not...but my sister is very phone shy...she can't even order a pizza on the phone.
So I make her calls for her...and she handles all my face to face confrontation....for example the time she fought to get my dresses from a particular former bridal shop.

Me!!!! I never like to do any phone confrontations, and rarely like to pick up my phone...especially cell phone. I think thats why I keep it turned off so often!

Yes! I never pick up the phone, I always screen calls and I never call people back, I'm notorious for it! I don't know why, I just don't like the phone

jenn... i do the same thing. i dont answer any number i dont know and i also dont pick up some that i do! i let them leave a message and then see what it is before calling or texting them back

I only like talking to my honey on the phone for any length of time...other than that, I don't like being on the phone to gab, I'd rather sit down and chat with my friends....

Mine too!!!! So then what do you do regarding returning phone calls??? Its not that I dont want to be the persons friend but I just have a phone phobia!

I am the opposite can talk and talk and talk on the phone, but when it comes to talking face to face I am a little bit more shy that way....But once I start talking you can't get me to shut up!

Me too- I really, really hate to call people. I don't know why. I think deep down I feel like I'm going to be inconveniencing them if I call. I just can't get past it either!

No but I hate making phone calls at work and my co-workers overhear me. I always feel so stupid like if I say something wrong they'll hear me.

I've always thought I was some kind of freak. I HATE the phone. Give me a letter, an email, whatever. I think it is just that a phone is kind of like an intrusion upon my time. Maybe I don't feel like talking. Maybe I don't want to call you back. Maybe I don't know how to get yakkers off!!! I'll talk to my mom/dad, mil, dh and that's about it. Although my aunt is really easy and funny to talk to.

I am soooooo phone shy, it's crazy. People think I don't think about them (or care) bc I never p/u the phone but it's so far from the truth. I'm happy to know I'm not alone on this one. I'm even phone shy at work, but not as bad! The only person I don't mind talking to is my mom bc she lives in Fla and I really have no other choice. Other than that, I let my machine pick up. I'm bad, I know.
