Anyone else afraid?
PLEASE NO DRAMA
that you will be outed by the board police?
I'm actually really afraid of this after what happened on FHF
I know there are a bunch of us "in hiding" but are regular posters. but with them outing an in hiding person I'm thinking of signing up and paying for fertility friends site to use the chat boards there and just leave this site all together so I can remain private.. anyone else afraido or thinking about leaving?

I started posting on the what to expect boards -- easier to use from my phone and more anonymity. only a few people know we are pregnant and it does make me nervous here
edit: not so much worried about admin publicly outing me, but people figuring out who I am and it being so close to home that it would get leaked to people IRL

I agree.
I wouldn't worry. I have been around forever and this is the first occurrence.
They aren't just going to go around outing people. I honestly believe there is more to the story anyway.

I am not thinking of leaving, but I have no alternate name here and am pretty new to the site.
I also regularly post on the bump which is free and a great support board also, fyi.

i dont read the other boards besides infertility and pregnancy, nor am i in hiding so i cant answer the question...
im only posting to add that I found the fertilty friend boards to be not so great. i paid for FF for the perks of the O tracking and charting, but i would NOT recommend their boards at all. it sort of reminded me of the boards on the bump - IMO the ladies aren't as nice as these boards, and when I used the boards there I didn't really find the responses helpful. they actually made me feel bad sometimes!!
anyway this was just my personal experience, but i know i personally prefer these boards MUCH more than any other ones ive found. being that i dont know the story at all about what went on on the other boards, i would have say that common sense says that if you dont start trouble, trouble wont find you.

I am not affriad at all.
To the best of my knowledge I dont know anyone on here nor do any of my friends frequent this message board.
I also dont give out any personal info.
But I think that in the case of someone who is annon....they should be able to be here in peace.
EVEN if someone "figures it out". Let the person in hiding stay there.

I go out of my way to try and be pretty anonymous. On one hand it stinks because I feel like I don't really get to "know" anyone on the boards as much. But on the other hand, I'm a very private person and I don't want the whole world knowing my business (especially that I'm TTC). I feel really bad about that outing incident and hope it was just a one time thing.

i have met ron on many occasions and i can tell u he nor liz nor kim are bad people or do things on purpose to hurt people...they r actually quite the opoosite and are really really nice caring people with families just like us
i was not there for all the drama but i did read his apology and believe it
as for a fake name..if u have one great..i dont have one or plan on using one for the simple fact i would get confused and think im posting under one when i am not lol
and to me if u r going to have a fake name..do not tell anyone about it..i mean yes cs knows but some othe other people who had/have fake names many other girls knew it was them anyway
just my 2 cents

i'd be more worried about people IRL finding you on here...but if you are posting under an alias/fake name you have a much better chance at staying anonymous - i wouldn't worry about being "outed". i don't think that will happen here again, especially if your fake name is just for TTC and you stay under the radar.
unfortunately there is a better chance of someone you know IRL trolling the boards. i always liked posting under my real name b/c i've been chatting with a lot of these girls for a few years now (LIW was my savior when i was working full time  ) i always preferred chatting with people who seemed more "real" (of course anyone can steal some photos and pretend to be someone else so that doesn't guarantee you are talking to that person). so that is another reason i didn't want to be anonymous - people are less likely to talk to you. but when you put yourself out there you risk the public knowing your business...and they willl know it as i have found out recently...
but i wouldn't worry about TPTB outing you. there do seem to be a lot of board "detectives" though - so they may pick up on who you really are.

Ron came on and said that it was "truthful" or something like that, hinting that X was now Speak the Truth. (or another person, there were 2 "in the closet" names referenced on that thread)
Then Ron made his appology because he completly mis understood the post..he thought it was ajoke and sorta "outed" a person thinking it was the worst kept secret on LIF. Completly by accident ie: not understanding the original post.
I say again, this is no comment, just what my understanding of the facts were.

Everything will continue to remain private. What happened was an isolated incident that has never happened before and never will happen again.

I hope thats what everyone does think.
It was an accident and not meant in a bad way. Crap happens.
I think more outing comes from posters figuring out who other posters are. NOT TPTB.

I'll tell you all that stuff made me happy for this board. Though I want a BFP badly, I also don't want to leave this nice drama free zone. As for the pp that mentioned the BUMP, I lurk on there, but those girls can be so mean and they berate everyone who doesn't temp, which I tried and it's not for me.
