Anyone bought JCPenney Furniture?
I am looking for a okay priced furniture, mainly like sofa and loveseat kind of thing for my new hous. Has anyone ever purchased JCPenney furniture? Is it good quality for the price? I am always satisfied with products I buy at JCPenney and since I have a toddler and a baby on the way I don't want to get super pricy furniture. Also, anyone know if they set up the furniture in your house when they deliver?

When my DH and I moved to Florida last July we purchased a dinning room set and a "L" shaped sofa/sleeper and ottoman.
We haven't had any complaints about the furniture.
They delivered the dinning room set and we had to put that together.
The coach/ottoman was delivered as well, but there was obviously nothing to it.

we got our bedroom set from there... the furniture is fine... the delivery was an absolute NIGHTMERE!!! I will never buy anything from them again... i wont even walk into the store because of what they put us through... they dont even un box everything for you... they just come and drop it, and it is nailed into these boards... we almost scratched our new floor up, and one of the pieces was damaged andhad to be exchanged.. that was the true nightmere... if you want me to go into more detail, just let me know!
we had complete opposite service from fortunoff... they unwrapped everything and put it all together for us, and we got great prices from them too...

You probably bought from the catalog... They specify in the catalog that setup is NOT included....the quality is not as good as in store either.
We originally were looking in the catalog, but I won't buy furniture without seeing it in person, so we went to JCP and discovered the furniture online is completely different than what's in the store.
sooo...We recently bought our bedroom set at JCPenney's IN STORE. In store the quality is 100% better plus our set was already put together...Just the bed needed to be put together (head, side, foot boards).
The guys were awesome! My dresser was damaged so they brought a new one the next week.
Our wait for delivery was TWO WEEKS! NOT MONTHS like other stores.
I would highly recommend them. I actually rec'd something from our saleswoman about an upcoming sale. I can FM you her info if you want. Unfortunately we'll be away tonight until Monday, so I couldn't get it to you until then.

My SIL bought a sofa set for her family room from JCPenny in Roosevelt Field Mall and she had no problems at all and is very happy w/ the set.

dining room table and bed frame...very good price...shipping was expensive but still below what i would get on regular stores.....
to add...this was online..not the store

nope... we ordered online actually and then over the phone... we also got a nightstand similar to yours... but it wasnt the boxes that bothered me, it was the delivery guy cursing me out and running away, rufusing to take back the damaged piece... oh and the 7 am sat morning phone calls telling me that they were driving around my neighborhood lost and couldnt find my house when they werent even scheduled to arrive that day... not to mention the time that they lied and said they came to my house to deliver, but no one was home, when my SIL took off of work and was sitting there ALL day for them, and no one showed up...or the time that they tried to deliver the furniture before we even offically owned the house, when i specifically told them not to go that day...

I got my couch and loveseat from JCP last August lnd am disappointed. They are chenille and they pilled so badly, it makes them look much older than they are. I dont know if thats par for the course with chenille but I took the warranty out when I bought them and it covers so many things however, pilling is not covered. Its really annoying!
ETA: I was reading some of the other replies and wanted to share that my experience with the delivery was fine. They set them up, attached the wood feet to them, etc. When I had a problem where the back seam was splitting (my son ran into the back of the couch and caused it) they came quickly and repaired it wonderfully. I just hate the damn pilling!

That's the exact bed I want to get!
Sorry to get off topic. My mom has ordered plenty of furniture from JCPenney over the years. I know that in some orders, not everything was ready at the same time, but as for quality and price, she has no complaints. She has ordered all of her pieces through the store.

alot of you are talking about the catalog and online and then the store. Isn't online and the catalog the same? I have the catalog and I check online as well and it has the same pieces. Does it even make a difference then if you order from one or the other? Although I think I want to go to the store to perhaps maybe see this sectional i am interested in, in person.

Yes... I was shopping for a wall unit on a small budjet. I actually ened up getting one of the floor models that was discontinued from JC Penney, Huge beautiful, solid wood. Origianl price $2800.00 I got it for $600.00. They had some guy that delivered it quickly. GREAT Bargain!

I bought my DR set and curio from the JC Penney store behind Smith Haven Mall and I got our Bedroom set from the catalog. All of the furniture is holding up really well and is excellent quality.
The delivery from the store was great, other than the curio they delivered was damaged but they brought me a new one a week later with a $50 gift card for the inconvenience. The delivery through the catalog was a nightmare
I'm actually trying to get an additional piece of the same bedroom set now and it has been discontinued. I only bought it 10 months ago, so I'm very disappointed. The bedding set I got from there at the same time is also discontinued. I really thought they would keep their stock longer.

We bought our leather pieces from there, a nice couch, about 90 inches long and a beautiful chair and ottomon, all leather with the wood trim. Their prices can't be beat on the leather, for the quality and the service was excellent, delivery and all.

My dad bought me a sofa from the store when I moved into my first apartment. I am still using it! Everything about the purchase was fine, and it is still holding up! I found looking for furniture was a nightmare... I did not realize how much furniture I HATED! I say go with something that is in your price range that you like... Good luck!
