We are DEFINITELY NOT READY! As soon as we find a house we want to buy, then MAYBE, but that's a big maybe.

I really needed to see this post. My son will be 1 this month and I cannot even imagine when, or if, we will try for #2. I always said I wanted my kids close in age, plus, due to my age we should try soon. However, I found this past year to be incredibly difficult in so many ways that I really need to get out of this funk before we consider it. I am guessing if we have another then they will be at least 3 years apart.

DH doesn't want another. There have been some pretty intense talks in our house regarding this .

I am not ready at all. There has been so many unexpected changes in my life. Even having a ton of experience with kids, a 10 yr old step I still wasn't prepared. I used to want kids close in age but now I am thinking just the opposite. If there is going to be a #2, it won't be for a couple of years.

Megan was born in August 2006.
I have always wanted my kids either 3 or 4 years apart. So, no I am not ready. Now even moreso that she is here, I am not ready. Financially, our living arrangements and even the fact that I am so enjoying being just Megans parent for now are the major factors.
Honestly, I am not ready to give any attention to another child. I feel as of right this second, I only want to give my time to Megan.
I cant wait to have another child, I have always wanted more than 1, but right now..its just not a doable thing for us and both of us are very content with waiting a while longer.

I am so glad I am not alone. I always wanted to start trying again in the Spring but I have really changed my mind. I am just so happy with our life right now.

If you have time on your side and want to wait, I don't think it's unusual at all. There are definitely benefits to having them a little further apart. My '06 baby is my last. I am sad about it in my heart but I know it's the right decision. I would have another if it were the right choice but since it's not, for a whole bunch of reasons, I can live vicariously through all the Moms here having new babies.

we feel EXACTLY the same way. Before, Aly, I always said I wanted 2 children, now Im not so sure I will even have a 2nd. If I do though, we definately wont be trying until she is atleast 2, if then. She is a handful right now and I cant imagine 2. Plus, I am enjoying giving her all of my time. I feel like so many of the people I was preggo with are preggo or TTC #2!
