Ants...Lets discuss
Ok, so DH & I are noticing lately we have an ant problem. I am talking about the little itty bitty ants. We are seeing them in our kitchen & this morning was the latest episode. We have traps down & I do spray sporadically. We can't seem to figure out where they are comin from.
I make sure I sweep & vacuum all the crumbs & leave nothing on the counters. Does anyone have an solutions?? Anyone else dealing with this???

Re: Ants...Lets discuss
I had them last summer, and used traps and sprays.
Haven't seen them since the weather got cooler.

I dealt with it. I had carpenter ants though and had to get an exterminator. They eat wood. I have flies though. I think all the buggies come in for the warmth.

Re: Ants...Lets discuss
We had a problem last year - as much as I cleaned, I couldn't get rid of them and wasn't sure where they were coming from.
The traps worked for us - I put down 4 in the areas where I had seen them the most - and haven't seen once since.

I forgot to mention on my email, but we had it happen and found that they were in our balsamic vinegar. We had one that didn't have a topper. I'd check EVERYTHING.

I also recommend the Terro traps. I had ants and once the traps were down, I didn't see them again.

My parents used to have ants, they get a exterminator to come periodically and spray. We had carpenter ants when we were renovating our house last year, we sprayed their nest and the outside of the house so they wouldn't come back in.
FYI - carpenter ants don't eat wood, its a common misconception. They move wood around so they can build their nests. Thats why you find big plies of sawdust when they are around.

I also think the Terro traps work good.
The only thing that you have to remember if you use them, is that you can not disturb the ants as they are going into the traps. Lots and lots are attracted to the traps and you just want to step on them.... But, you can't!!
They seemed to have worked. GL!!

i had an ant problem over the summer and no amount of traps or cleaning get rid of them. as a last resort, i emptied all the cabinet and found that they were coming from the maple syrup bottle that wasn't closed properly. TOTALLY gross. after chucking the bottle and wiping the cabinets, i haven't had a problem since.

Re: Ants...Lets discuss
I had such an ant problem....they were underneath the siding in my house and coming in everywhere. We had an exterminator who worked ok but then I bought this stuff online (ant poison).
I sprinkled it along the perimeter of my house and voila they were gone. Don't know the name off-hand but when I go home I'll let you know.
We also had small ants, we had odorous ants.
