Anguilla Question...
...for those that flew into St. Martin. Did you take the public ferry or a private shuttle like Funtime instead?
The ferry is cheaper but Funtime and similar basically leave from the airport.
Trying to decide which option makes more sense.
Thanks in advance

Re: Anguilla Question...
Going there we took the public ferry. DH got sooo sick on it so we actually flew back to St Martin at the end of the trip.
If you really don't want to fly, then I'd try the private one. Maybe their boats are bigger and you won't feel too much of the movement
BTW: Where did you decide to stay?

DH and I are both not really prone is sea sickness but will take a Dramamine tab just in case! How awful that your DH got so ill.
We are staying at the Cuisinart! Got a really fantastic deal with them. Would have loved to have stayed at Cap Juluca (I think that's where you said you'd stayed) but it was over 600 bucks a night and we just couldn't swing that.
Do you have any recommendations for most do's on the island? Certain beaches or restaurants? Would love to hear (read!) any inside info you have

Re: Anguilla Question...
When I went, we had to tax a taxi from the airport to the ferry since it was on the other side of the island.
How much of a price difference is it to take a private ferry? You will save time doing this.
Strawhats is really good restaurant, best jerk chicken.
FM me if you have any questions.

Hi Alilt!
The price difference is maybe about 25 bucks or so. Not much imo.

Re: Anguilla Question...
FYI...cap juluca changed owners and the resort isn't of the same quality it once was.

Re: Anguilla Question...
The restaurant at Cap Juluca was great. I think the name of it was Koi or something like that. I am so bad that I didn't write everything down. We also enjoy Blancards (but the service was really slow). We also wound up at a Mexican place but don't remember the name. We went to one restaurant and the chef never showed up so they sent us to the Mexican place and it was really good.
We did absolutely nothing in Anguilla. We ate and laid on the beach so I can't help with activities.
We got lucky that our wedding was the beginning of their slow season so we got a great deal on the rooms. My DH wants to go back but I think that's a once in a lifetime experience because of the price LOL

Re: Anguilla Question...
I took the private boat to when I went and I stayed at the Cuisinart. You get the boat (speed boat) about a block from the airport and it takes you to the beach of the hotel. You then have to drag your bag along the sand to get to the hotel. They helped but it was not the process I was expecting. This was in 2004 so maybe it has changed some. The ride was fine, it was just bumpy and a little wet as any speed boat trip usually is.
