Angie's List?
For those of you who have used Angie's List.
Do you think it's been helpful to you and have you been happy with services you went because of reviews on there?

We use Service Magic instead and its free...we were very happy with all the company's we used from there.

Angie's List?
I joined not to long ago. Found coupon and it was super cheap. Its been helpful for us . Gives good and bad reviews which have been helpful.

I joined not that long ago and either the companies i was looking for weren't there, or the one's that were i couldve read the same reviews in other places for free.
So far, i haven't found it useful but that could change.

I also used the coupon and we really wanted it when we were looking for a moving company.
I am so glad we joined because the company I was going to go with had terrible reviews and we ended up picking a company from Angie's List and they were amazing!
We still go on there when we need to look for certain types of companies. I like that it can sort it by region and it makes looking for companies easy.

I've used Service Magic, and found a pretty bad contractor.
I recently learned that Service Magic is lead generation for vendors, and one vendor i found (not through SM) said the "pre-screening" was a joke, and there was not much they needed to do to get a good rating - the vendors pay for it.
Where as Angie's List, it's the consumer who pays. I haven't used AL yet, but I would try it.

Angie's List?
We used Angie's list to find a contractor to redo our bathroom. He was great to work with and even told us at one point that he depends completely on his Angie's list reviews and referrals to get business. We could tell its important to him to get good reviews because he worked hard to make sure we were happy with the finished job and even came back right away on a Friday evening when we found a small leak. I don't know if all businesses on Angie's list are the same way or if we just lucked out.
