I've heard Bon Jovi do it a few times.
Okay I did NOT agree with Simon just now- wouldn't say brilliant cuz the song is too big for that little voice.

DH thought David Cook shoulda sung that last song instead. I think Michael Johns woulda been AWESOME with that song actually....oh he can sing the phone book for me. And not cuz of his voice...it's not the best I've ever heard or anything. There's just something about him.

nope. i think it's jason wade (lifehouse)...
from wikipedia:
John Cale's version was featured in the 2001 animated film Shrek[1]. Rufus Wainwright covered the song as well, and his version appears on the film's soundtrack album rather than Cale's. This is apparently because Wainwright is signed with Dreamworks SKG and Cale is not
