Am I putting on mascara wrong??
Every time I put on mascara it gets on my eyelid and looks like I'm wearing eyeliner. if i wanted to wear eyeliner i'd put on eyeliner!! what am i doing wrong??

I always thought I was doing it wrong too!
I just use a damp Q-tip to get it off but it's annoying.
I don't wear eyeshadow but if I did I'd have to do the eyeshadow AFTER the mascara because I'd be removing it as I removed the mascara from my lid.
Odd!

you are holding it too close to the lashline.. you also have to use a lighter hand when you do the strokes and just keep applying more to darken the lashes and not the lid

but i thought you should start more at the lash line and pull up? that when you start lower thats what lengthens the lash.

This is pretty much what I do, too. I also kinda twirl the applicator slowly as I'm moving away from the lashline.

This is pretty much what I do, too. I also kinda twirl the applicator slowly as I'm moving away from the lashline.
This is pretty much what I do. Practice makes perfect!

Do you remove the excess mascara from the wand before applying? What I do is I remove the excess on the side of the top of the tube, then I put it on to small sections of lashes at a time. So I have the wand vertically instead of horizontally. I also layer it, so I put a little on a time and repeat it.

I used to use this and swore by it until I tried Dior Blackout!!!! It lasts 3 times longer ( the loreal dries out quick). The only thing is that the Dior takes 3 or 4 uses to really get the junk on the stick. I promise you will love it!!

Are you using the famous Maybelline one that is pink and green? I hate that one, I find it very we and runny even though people swear by it. i hate it ! Try Loreal Volumonous. I keep changing mascaras but always go back to it. It is drier, you won't have an issue.

I apply mascara the same way some of the other ladies said. I start at the base of my lash and then move the wand back and worth in a zig zag motion. I keep reapplying until it looks how I want it. If I want more on, then I apply it vertically as well.

I put my head up and look up into the sky while doing it, not sure if I am explaining it correctly but I've never had a problem with getting it my skin. You have to apply from underneath the lashes...

It's wider than the voluminous brush, hard to explain but once you get the hang of it (takes about a week), your eyelashes will be amazing. I used to do a few coats with voluminous and it would flake at the end of the day, the blackout goes on jet black and lasts. I'm in love 
Also, sephora will take it back if you're unsatisfied.
