Am I putting him to sleep too early?
DS will be 4 months tomorrow. Most nights he sleeps from 730-230, wakes for a bottle, goes back to sleep till 6 or so. Do you think the 730 time is too early and that I should try putting him to sleep later and maybe that would avoid the 230 time. If he slept till 4 or so though that might be worse for me because I would have to be up then for the day to get ready for work.

I don't think he's going to sleep too early at all. At that age (after reading Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child) we started putting DS to bed between 6:30-7:00. He would still wake usually once a night, but by 5 months he was sleeping through.

I don't think putting him to sleep later at this age will keep him from waking for the middle of the night bottle. Either he is hungry, or he is waking from habit.
My DS was waking out of habit at 4 months, I didn't think he was that hungry. So, I tried increasing his bottles slightly during the day (1/2 oz. to an oz.) and then let him fuss for a bit when he woke up at 3 am. After a few nights, he slept through the night.
If he is really still hungry for that 2:30 bottle, he might not be ready to give it up.

can you maybe try a dream feed around 11 to get him through so he'll skip waking at 2:30?
