No the bridesmaids arent pitching in for the other guests . Each guest is expected to pitch in themselves
I'm sorry but that's laughable. No drinks? $120 for just dinner? She's going to end up with no one there.
Agreed- way too much! We went out to a really nice restaurant for a friend's b-day recently- had plenty of drinks and apps and covered the birthday boy and it was still $100 pp.

yes too much because i think its ridiculous you are only pay that because you are getting a private room there is no need for a private room.i would tell them flat out no you will not be paying it. if anything just say you will meet up with them after dinner.

Re: Am I crazy? Bachelorette party
Where is dinner? I don't think $120 is a lot, if you're at a nice place Why don't you do dinner/drinks and whomever doesn't want to spend that much on dinner, can just meet up at the bar for drinks after?

Re: Am I crazy? Bachelorette party
Bachelorette Parties are like anything else - We're all adults, if you WANT to go, spending whatever amount may be worth it to you - If it was my BFF I wouldn't blink an eye, if it was my 5th cousin who I never see and don't care for, I'd be annoyed I had to spend a dime and waste a Saturday night. KWIM?
If you're 'eh' or it's an obligation to go, you don't want to spend that, or you can think of other things you'd rather spend it on .........so, don't go. Spend the money on those 'other' things that are important to you.
Or, go for a piece of the party and not the whole thing ........

I'm footing the whole bill for the shower, traveling from out of state and needing to pay for hotel reservations while i have to deal with this one local bridesmaid complain she cant pitch in for the bridal shower but has all this money to blow on the bachelorette party. She even went as far to say that if need be we can tone down the bachelorette party so it won't be expensive for all of us and yet suggests a private room for each guest to pay 120 plus alcohol. I told her main dining room will be just fine especially if we are still going out afterwards.
I would be annoyed by this as well
Could you ask your future BIL, MIL or your mom to chip in for the shower?
It sounds really unfair that you are footing the entire bill for the shower.
When I was a bridesmaid for one wedding, sister of bride was a student and their parents didn't have much money. I know the bride's fiance gave the student sister money to spend on bridal festivities.

Thanks that's what I told her. I told her we can just sit in the main dining room and I think she got a little offended

MIL is widow, sister and BIL are paying for the wedding themselves and my mom and sister had a falling out so my mom wants nothing to do with it. My family isn't going to shower or wedding so if I didn't make it happen Noone was going to.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe you could skip the bachelorette party. You can use pregnancy as an excuse.
I'm pregnant now and there is no way I would want to go partying right now. Let your sister go out and party with her friends.

Re: Am I crazy? Bachelorette party
I'm slightly still pissed my friends totally skimped out on throwing me a nice bachelorette party (I technically had one, and it sucked) but also relieved nobody was put out and had to spend $$$$$
Sometimes I feel like the costs of these things get out of hand. Weddings are about the couple and the rest of their lives together. The insane cost that goes into these things simply by being a member of the bridal party can be absurd. My dh and I were both in a wedding party for the same couple and between the two of us it ended up costing around $5,000.
