alcohol at shower?
My mom is planning my shower and it will most likely be a brunch with mimosas, bloody marys, etc. Do you think she should pay extra for alcohol in addition for the above drinks? I don't think it's necessary, but wasn't sure what is best.

personally, when i go to showers i don't expect liquor or wine. Its the middle of the afternoon, most people aren't looking to tie one on.
I think mimosas and bloody marys are fine

Totally not necessary. I'm not even having wine on the tables at my shower. I think your fine with Mimosas & bloody Mary's since is it a brunch.

I think what you have is fine. I've never seen more than alcoholic punch at any shower.

At my sister's baby shower I didn't have any alcohol served. It was early - 12pm-4pm, I didn't feel alcohol was necessary, neither did my parents. The bar was open if someone wanted something on their own.

I have a very big drinking crowd with my friends and family & we were fine with mimosas & BMs at my shower last year. DH did however go to the bar & get a beer

We had a champagne and sherbert punch and wine at DD#1's
and
Bloody Mary's and Mimmossa'a at my Sprinkle for this one.

I wouldn't expect alcohol at a shower. My shower package comes with wine and punch so that's why we're having it but I wouldn't pay extra for it.

my bridal shower had open bar but we are alchi's too  i think mimosas are fine though!!!

I think it is fine and I am (was ) a drinker. I find the selection very appropriate for the particular time/event.

At my shower there was a champagne bunch and then my mom ran a bar tab for anyone that wanted wine. I think maybe 2 or 3 people had wine.
