akward infertility question
I figure I'm better off asking this over here, because I really don't want to offend anyone on that board... but when is it appropriate to cross over there? We've been trying for going on 7mths after having DS easily. I've already been through CD3 and CD21 bloodwork and I now need to call (tomorrow) to find out the details of having DH get a SA. My Dr. gave me the number, I just need to figure out what exactly DH needs to do. So do I stay here until I"ve been trying for over a year? Like I said, I don't want to offend anyone, especially people struggling to have their first DC. But it's becoming more and more plausible that we're dealing with secondary infertility.

Re: akward infertility question
I don't know the whole "etiquette" but I think you should post wherever you feel comfortable and where you think you most likely to get the answers to your questions. Personally, I probably wouldn't post on IF unless I was seeing a fertility specialist. But, if I had a question I thought those lovely ladies could answer more than the TTCers could, I'd post it over there and hope they'd respond even though they didn't "know" me.
ETA: I'm sorry that you're having a hard time with baby #2 and I hope you're pg really soon.

Re: akward infertility question
i have just started posting a few questions there........I have onlybeen trying since Oct and got PG twice, but had 2 early mc's. I think if you have questions that they could possibly help with you should ask and I don't think anyone can be offended by that. It shouldn't matter if you are trying 3 mos or 24 mos if you have infertility issues then you belong there.

Re: akward infertility question
I "transitioned" over there slowly. At 1st I was just posting there, but once I made the appt w/ an RE, I started over there. I'm on both boards now.
There's lots of people over there w/ secondary infertility. It's a very supportive area and very helpful.
Come on over whenever u feel comfortable! I'm sorry that u are having trouble getting pregnant now.

Re: akward infertility question
We don't bite!! Come over anytime to start asking questions, finding out about different roads to take, etc. There are a few ladies with secondary infertility so they may be of some help to you too. Trust me, people coming over to ask questions don't offend us!! Sadly, we're all in it together...

Re: akward infertility question
Don't be afraid of the IF board. The ladies there are wonderful. I am a clotter and had issues conceiving ds. The ladies there were so welcoming and answered all my questions. They are supportive are caring. I say go introduce yourself. I am sure they will welcome you.

Re: akward infertility question
I started primarily posting over there when I started going to an RE. I was only trying for about 5 months at that point, but I've always known I would need assistance. The ladies over there just have more experience and knowledge with what goes on at RE's. I still post on TTC occasionally, mostly when I'm in the 2WW (which I am now).
You can post whatever you want, noone is going to chase you out!

I feel the same way. Since the ttc/re break I feel like I have no where to post.
I started posting over there when I first found out I have PCOS. It wasn't constant posting, just sharing my story and asking questions. The are great over there, always willing to help as much as they can and lend support no matter what.
You should post when you feel comfortable. They will accept you with open hearts and arms.

Re: akward infertility question
I honestly didn't feel really comfortable with posting over there until I started doing IVF.
Many of the girls there have been through so much and have been on this journey for years... so I felt like my little story paled in comparison.
Now I feel comfortable posting there because although in terms of length of time we haven't been through as much as many people... we have done many procedures that have failed and are "officially" diagnosed with infertility.
I think it's all about your comfort level. Nobody is going to tell you NOT to post there... but I mean, I wouldn't post on there and ask the same questions like we'd ask on TTC - KWIM? (e.g., no "let's talk babynames" threads)
