Re: Age 3 - Do you find it harder or easier?
From this thread, it seems like a lot of the boys got easier and the girls harder. Interesting. Wonder if that's just coincidence. DS is 2 1/2. So far not bad, he has his moments of course but overall I can't complain. I keep waiting for it to get worse but praying it doesn't lol!

Re: Age 3 - Do you find it harder or easier?
I really think it is a GIRL thing. My DD is 3.5 and is a huge DRAMA QUEEN. However, my friends with girls around the same age are all going through the same thing whereas my 13 month old DS is into everything and DD was not at that age.
Anyways, DD will cry at the drop of a hat, has a sassy attitude aand told me today, at bloomingdales that I hurt her feelings by telling her that that no, she can not have a purse. I am pretty tough on her so believe me this attitude is not the result of inconsistant or lax parenting. She is just 3 going on 13

Sometimes I'll say "hi Madison" and she'll say, "NO you DO NOT say hi Madison"... OMG this made DH and I LOL, sounds just like DD, it's her new thing to say "NO you DON'T say...." or NO you don't talk to me" To answer your Q I find 3 sooooo much harder than 2

Re: Age 3 - Do you find it harder or easier?
I have to say that 3 is much harder....but only because Lily has never been difficult. She never did the terrible 2's, so 3 is quite an adjustment. She cries about everything....she's very demanding....she whines a lot....
But...she's also more fun than ever, so it really balances out! So even though she can be challenging.....I'm having a blast with her most of the time!!

3 has been REALLY tough. Its gotten a bit better in the past couple of months(she is 3 years 7 months) but still rough. Constant arguing with me and tanturms. NOT looking forward to this child as a teenager
I know...I swear, Maddie looks at me like she's already 13. We are SO in for it. YUP, just few days ago I posted on my FB that my DD is 3 going on 16

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARDER......
Living with Madelyn is like a box of chocolates..... You never know oh never mind.
I have walked into her room when she wakes up to find her sitting with a scowl on her face announcing "Maddie NOT happy today...."
EVERYTHING is a dramariffic display of emotions. She will throw an all-out hissy fit because DH gave her juice and she wanted me to do it.
The upside is that she can more easily express herself now- so the all-out tantrums have decreased.

Re: Age 3 - Do you find it harder or easier?
Raising hand WAY high up in the air!!
Bella has definitely become more challenging. Her attitude is something to behold! Whew!! We are getting talked back to A LOT and she goes from "happy" to "I'm sad" or "I'm mad" in the blink of an eye. The whining has become VERY annoying. She has also perfected the arms crossed, with a scowl, pout, sometimes with an "I don't like you anymore"
Sometimes I just have to laugh. But wow, her mood swings and emotions are on FIRE.
We try to nip everything in the bud as soon as it starts. We don't let her get away with any type of bad behavior. She knows when I get upset or mad now and it really bothers her when I'm not happy. I get "Momma, you happy? You a teeny tiny bit happy or big happy"
She gets put in her room when she acts out and is told to think about her actions. I'm being more stern with her and trying to explain why she can't behave that way. Yelling wasn't doing the trick
However.... thankfully it's not every day. We have awesome fun filled days with lots of smiles and great behavior! Yesterday was one of them actually and we went to Friendly's for ice cream to celebrate She gets rewarded and praise for her good-behavior. Lot's of "thank yous" and "being a really good girl is so helpful to mommy and daddy".
But it's always up and down. She's definitely my box of chocolates lately...i never know what I'm going to get

Re: Age 3 - Do you find it harder or easier?
DS is 3 and I have to say it's easier. He definitely has his moments during the day and tries constantly to test us and exert his independence, but I'll let him cry it out and 5 min later he'll come in and give me a hug and say sorry and go on his merry way. Generally, life has been easier for us all at 3.

Re: Age 3 - Do you find it harder or easier?
DS will be 3 in 3 months and I feel it coming on...quickly! I have been saying for weeks now that 2 was so much easier than 3 (although we're not there yet, I can't imagine what it's going ot be like if this downward sprial continues)

Whew. 3 is hard for us. Madison has SUCH an attitude...cries at the drop of a hat...(if I say no more tv, or simply say no for any reason she cries hysterically and throws a tantrum). Sometimes I'll say "hi Madison" and she'll say, "NO you DO NOT say hi Madison"...other times she says, "I'm going to be grumpy today" and she really, really means it.
It's not fun to be around her. Her mood swings are DRASTIC...sweet, happy little girl...to devil...in 5 seconds.
Anyone else?
You just described my 3 year old to a "t". 3 is just horrible. I mean that. Horrible!
