Same day...I literally drove to closing with boxes in my car

A week. I had painters paint the entire interior before we moved in.

DH and his friends completed gutted the house and renovated the whole thing before we moved in

we moved into our 1st house the day we closed.

Not quite sure of the exact plan for #2 yet, but we may wait a few days so we can install hardwood floors before moving in.

6 months, we did construction first.

eta: we closed May 2nd, STARTED construction on July 7th, moved in on Nov 22.

We started moving in the afternoon we closed -we had a bunch of people come in with us to help clean and paint.

It took about a week to move everything from the apartment and my Mom's house to our house.

1 month - we gutted the entire first floor and did paint and floors on the 2nd floor. We moved in with no kitchen (lived with no kitchen for a month)

5 months... we had to completely gut/renovate the entire house.

2 months. We live out our lease, and had to paint, do floors and clean the house.

we do things differently here...we signed the contract with a firm move in date. no changing it.
i signed and moved in within a month.

We wont be in for at least 4 weeks because we have renovations to do.

Even if we didnt have to renovate, the sellers remained in the house for 2 days.

Almost 3 months. We lived in the city, and I was pregnant, so we waited until after I had the baby. I didn't want to commute while I was pregnant, and my doctor and hospital were in the city. During that time we did some basic cosmetic work on the house -- painted, refinished floors, etc.

We packed up and actually moved when my son was 5 weeks old.

3 weeks. DH painted, we had carpets installed, some ceiling fans put in, and some minor cosmetic stuff to do.

But we did drive to the closing with the car loaded up with painting and cleaning supplies.

It was a tough time. I had just gone back to work FT and was caring for an infant. DH did most of the work, with some help from my Dad. And it was right around Christmas too. There were a lot of changes going on.

we didn't get the keys until 3 days after closing. After that it was 2 months before we moved in. We cleaned, painted, ripped up carpets, had the floors redone and then got married and went on our HM. We officially moved in a couple of days after we came back from our HM.

a little over a month... we had to paint and re-do the hardwood floors, order all the furniture.

first 2 houses the same day we closed.

If we close on the 3rd house (fingers crossed) I hope to be able to rent back a few days to replace carpets and paint since we have the kids and I don't want them to be living there while we do it....but if we can't we are going to try for the same day as closing again.

3 weeks... we had the floors done and we had the entire house painted which took forever because they had to plater over wall paper that had been painted over 2 times by the sellers

Same day, we even put stuff in the backyard before we had the keys the morning of closing.

We closed on Tuesday and moved in Saturday. We've been living there while painting and unpacking because our lease ended the day we moved into the house.
