after the convertible car seat?
When did you switch your child out of the convertible car seat? When are they allowed to be in a booster seat? and what kind? My ds is going to be 4 in december and is almost at the weight limit for our current seat and I want to figure out what my options are. If you can recommend a seat (that isnt too pricey) that would be great! Thanks!

I bought a britax frontier 85 - seat to booster. DD is 43 inches 42 lbs and very comfy. The other seat I looked at was the grace nautilus. Both came highly recommended.

Re: after the convertible car seat?
We also just bought the Britax Frontier 85 SICT for both my 3&4 yr olds. Both had outgrown their convertible seats. The Frontier is still 5 point harness which I feel safe with but will allow us to keep them oh.this seat until the NYS law of 8. Once I feel it is safe enough for them, I will remove the 5 point harness & use with the seatbelt.

We have the graco nautilus for both older boys. When ds 1 turned 4 he puked in his seat I took it apart to clean it but theme I put it bak together I didn't put the straps back in. 1 it was a pain and 2 he met the requirements to be in a high back booster. The seat belt sat at the right spot on him. He is 40lbs and 41 inch

Re: after the convertible car seat?
for those with the natulius.....
are the straps a pain to buckle and unbuckle?
I have the myride and i HATE it. I have such a hard time buckling her and unbuckling her. I LOATHE that seat. In the pictures it looks like the same harness. this is compare to the Britax seat that I love so easy to use, buckle and set up.

Yes - we have the Argos and it's quite difficult. I was torn on buying more (I bought one to test) and my DH said go for it and now he complains non stop!!! It's a lot more difficult compared to the Britax.

I agree... But it also makes it difficult for my child to get herself out of it god forbid... not like she has tried but I know I have friends kids that unbuclke themselves all the time.
But I do hate buckling her in and out as does my DH and my poor mother can hardly unbuckle her hahah lol

Re: after the convertible car seat?
i have the Evenflo Symphony 65 in my car. its a convertible that goes up to 65lbs front facing and then 100lbs booster. so he'll still be in the harness for awhile. i needed to get a second car seat for my boyfriends car so i just bought the Evenflo SecureKid 300. its a booster seat but a 5 pt. harness that goes up to 65lbs and then 110lbs booster. DS likes that one better now...probably just because its new.
