Advice Please!!

It's weird to say but I agree with everyone on this. I agree with those saying that you should just let everyone do what they want and just move on and say thank you but I also agree with just taking over the whole thing because it's just causing more drama then you need right now.

My mom planned my shower and I told her I wanted to know just the date and time (so I could get my hair done). I ended up knowing SO much more and was NOT happy about it. I didn't ask, she just would call me and tell me something. I even called my dad and told him. He tried to get her to stop but she did it. I finally started leaving the room or hanging up on her while she would start to talk about it. I cried too many times over my shower and it just became too much.

You have to do what is best for your and your twins. Stress is NOT good for you and the babies. Honestly, I think IF you don't want to know anything just go to both and don't talk to anyone about anything. I'm 35 weeks tomorrow and had an all day communion and the next day I had a baby shower for a good friend. It was a lot but honestly it's doable. You even said yourself that the shower that your mom is doing is just a small dinner so you won't be that tired. You'll be fine. BUT IF you decide that you want certain things and aren't happy about and you DO want to be involved to get what you want, then tell your mom that you are just doing to do it all yourself and move on. You can't keep stressing yourself out about this. You just need to decide what you want and go from there but stick with it...involved or not involved.

Girl, my only suggestion is to figure out what is going to give you the least amount of stress and go with it. And try to STAY OUT OF IT. Let your mom(s) do what they are going to do -- they are doing something nice for you.

I am only having a shower on my family's side because our families are almost 1000 miles apart.

DH's family isn't doing anything.

So look at it this way. BOTH of your moms want to do something special to celebrate your baby. Enjoy it.
