Abby got her very first birthday card today and it left me in tears because...
...it was from the doctors at North Shore Hospital's Center for Human Reproduction - the place that without them, Abby may not be here. I was further reminded of the journey it took for me to become a parent and heart was filled with emotions - the surgery, the MANY IUIs, the miscarriages and most of all my stunning daughter who gave me selflessness. Every damn tear we cried was worth it.
I do realize that it was more than likely taken from a computer generated list, but the fact that they even have that service humbled me. It made me realize that being a parent, is not a guarantee, but a G-d given blessing.

 That's a seemingly small thing that really means a lot.
We got a card from my RE, congratulating us on Ryleigh's birth. We put it in her baby book--without Dr. Matthews, Ryleigh wouldn't exist, either.

awwww...so wonderful...children, just miracles, sometimes with a little scientific intervention, but STILL miraculous!!!
i cried a lot when my DS turned one....

Just made me choke up. I can't believe how much a blessing they are either----since DS arrived I feel such a connection to "kids" in general and my heart goes out to the familes who are struggling to get pregnant.
