8mo not sttn anymore

its only been two nights so i may be jumping the gun, but the past two nights dd wakes around 12:30am screaming. we went into her and tried to calm her down (even pick her up) but she still cried. we gave tylenol thinking it may be teething and she went back to sleep until 5am when she would cry again so we gave a bottle and she slept untill 7am.
i dont want to give her tylenol if she doesnt need it - during the day it seems she may be teething from her motions, but shes not fussy or crying like she is at night.
i also didnt want to feed her at midnight bc i didnt want to get back into that habit but maybe its a growth spurt?
im dont think CIO is right for now bc she seems so upset and bothered when she wakes i think something is wrong.
any suggestions on how to handle this? do i continue giving tylenol if she wakes? give it to her before bed hoping it helps her not wake up at all?

i do plan on giving her another ounce before bed tonight - not sure if that will help or not.

eta - around 5.5 months we did CIO bc dd would wake in the middle of the night crying until we came in to her - and then she would smile when she saw us, so we knew she just wanted some attention. after CIO, for the past 3 months she would sleep from 7pm -6:30am take a bottle then go back to sleep until 8am.

8 or 9 months is typical for a growth spurt. Teething is also very possible. Or maybe she's learning something new? That interrupts sleep, too. I think you might just have to ride this out and see if it passes.

DS actually woke up this morning at 5:45 screaming. He wouldn't take a bottle, wasn't trying to play and wouldn't even let daddy hold him. He only wanted me. He'd put his head on my shoulder and relax there, but screamed when I tried to put him back into the crib. I was thinking maybe he had a nightmare?

Either way, he was exhausted and a few hours later, finally fell asleep on the nanny's shoulder. Last I heard, she had been holding him, fast asleep, for an hour!

8mo not sttn anymore

Tylenol would only hold DD for 4 hours if at all. She got 6 teeth at 8 months so we had a rough time! I gave motrin since helped more than tylenol and held her for 6 hours. Nighttime is definitely harder on them when they're teething since laying down increases the swelling in their gums.

I'm going through the same thing right now with my 9 month old. Some nights he's up screaming and others he just won't go to bed. I'm in tears most nights cuz I'm so tired.

I feel the same with the Tylenol too. Hate to keep Givig it to him if he doesn't need it!

This started a few weeks ago right as his top teeth were cutting through.

My guess is teething. That's how my DD acts when a tooth is coming. I would give Motrin before bed and see if it helps. Do that for a few nights and then see if anything breaks through. I will admit though that I don't mind giving meds. If I think my baby is in pain, then I am going to do anything I can to take away that pain!
