Re: need help dd not sttn anymore
first off, she's 5mos old? she is not eating NEARLY enough formula throughout the day. she should be eating between 24 & 32 ounces and from what you said she's eating 23ounces.
additionally, she's not napping at all. she's probably starving and overtired and that's why she's not sleeping. my DD was napping at least 4hours at that point.
her feeding schedule is on the same schedule as my 8mo old. i would definitely add another bottle or more ounces to each bottle throughout the day.

Re: need help dd not sttn anymore
I agree with PP at that age and until 12 months my DD was taking 3 naps totalling 3 hrs...she also was drinking at least 28 oz formula. Try to put her down for an afternoon nap and add an extra oz or two to each feeding if she won't take an additional feeding.
I think at 5 months my DD was up for feeding (it was BM) but 2x per night.
I think your DD may be normal in getting up 1x per night, but I think she needs more nap time.
Good luck, it WILL get easier I promise, DD sleeps 12 hrs straight since 1 yr..it goes by fast I promise

Re: need help dd not sttn anymore
Im no expert (my DD is almost 4 months old and im a 1st time mom) but she is not getting enough formula she should be getting around 30 oz (average)
Also, my DD sleeps about 3-5 hours worth of naps during the day. One usually long one 1.5 hours-2 hours and then 2 smaller naps 30 mins each.
more formula, more sleep. You might be thinking more sleep during the day?... but she wont sleep @ night.. the thing is if they are overtired they cant sleep well at night.

Re: need help dd not sttn anymore
Feed her bottle first, then wait 30 min to offer solids. Or offer less solids to get more formula in.
She could aslo be more aware now and waking up just for attention. You sure she's hungry? Have you tried to soothe her back to sleep?

Re: need help dd not sttn anymore
i wouldnt go to the extent of saying her DD is "starving" thats a bit harsh IMO. but i dont think shes getting enough calories to keep her satisfied through the night. so i do agree that you should increase her formula intake. you might also want to try putting her to bed earlier. it looks like her last nap is around 2ish for 45 mins. at that age, babies usually stay awake for no more than 3 hours at a time and then need rest. shes overtired and cant get into REM sleep. i would try going down earlier so shes not overtired.
good luck. hope you all get good sleep again soon!

Re: need help dd not sttn anymore
Well, I think 8 months is too old to be swaddled. How does she move around? Doesn't she roll over? She's probably uncomfortable. I can't comment much on the formula, as my kids were BF, but it she is most definitely overtired. At 8 months my kids were taking two naps a day for 1.5-2hrs each. They'd go to sleep at 7:30 and sleep for 12 hours. Like a PP mentioned, you should be giving formula before solids, formula should be her main source of nutrition until she is a year old.

Re: need help dd not sttn anymore
As someone else posted, offer her more formula first then the cereal/food. At this point formula is more important.

First thing I would do, is, get rid of the swaddle. My DD HATED it at 4 months old. Your DD probably wants Freedom.
I would increase her formula as well. At 8 months old, maybe even increase her cereal a bit at night.
She may also be ready for a routine. Start a bedtime routine. Bath, Bottle/Book , Bed. Stick with it every night, Same Time! That may help as well.
Hope it gets better real soon!

Re: need help dd not sttn anymore
My DS's drank much more formula during the day but all you can do is offer it to her, you can't force her to drink it.
She could be teething or having a growth spurt. DS #2 didnt start STTN until almost 10 mon. All babies are different.
ETA: I just saw that she is 8 mo. old. She needs to eat more during the day.

She does move, she gets herself out, and yes she does roll over but never in her crib. she is in daycare and she stated tht she doesnt sleep there, it just so hard, i just cant take it anymore im so stressed!
I just cant stop crying! why is my kid doing this?
with all this i feel like a bad mom, that i put her in daycare and she isnt getting enough sleep.

she was sleeping fine until 5mths it all changed, Im really think she has acid reflux and the ped just keeps putting it off, and putting it off. She also congested, arches her back, and cries alot after she eats, she is already on the special sensitivity formula for gas and fussiness. Ive tired giving her more and she just doesnt wanna eat more.

Take her to get a 2nd opinion with a ped. GI especially if you think she is uncomfortable or in pain.

Re: need help dd not sttn anymore
My DS stopped sleeping through the night at about 5 months also, it was about the same time as when he started solids. I figured it was because he was actually eating less during the day and needed the extra bit at night. I just went with it and it lasted until about 9 or 10 months.
Also, around 8 months is when we started a routine to help DS put himself to sleep. Up until that point I nursed him to sleep and then put him in his crib. It got to the point where I couldn't put him down gently enough and also if he woke up at night he had trouble getting himself back to sleep.
Maybe try starting a routine, for us it took about a week for things to stick. I would also start trying to put her down much earlier, by 9PM she is probably very overtired. She will probably fight you at first, but I think in the end it will make life easier for all of you. At that age DS went to bed between 7 and 7:30. DS also slept better during the day when we started putting him down earlier at night.
You aren't a bad mom, we all struggle with sleep and eating, those are the two biggies.

Does she have a sound machine? This helped with both my kids as well. Dress her in warm fleecy feety PJs, lay her down and turn on the machine.
We have this one:

Don't feel like Quoting..LOL
I got the sound machine at Bed Bath and Beyond. The picture I posted is from Target.com
It's Homedics Sound Machine
It plays a show on the ceiling and plays music.
DS will be 4 in January and Im not ashamed to say, he STILL uses it! We got DD one too and she has LOVED it for quite a while now!
