7m old gags when i give her solid food???

ok this has never happened before. i just went to feed DD and she is gagging A LOT when i bring the spoon to her mouth. shes been on fruits and veggies for a month and a half and im not feeding her anything new. its sweet potato which is her favorite and avocado which she likes as well. at one point i just stuck the spoon in her mouth and she actually gagged and thew up?!! this is so weird. shes happy and ate normally this morning. what in the world is this?? did this happen to anyone else?? i keep trying to sneak bites in but she gags every time?? its food from the same batch shes had a bunch of times.

shes been sucking her thumb a lot and started talking a lot more this week. i dont think shes sick, she def doesn't have a fever and seems happy. she also ate her bottles/nursed no problem .

ETA she has no teeth yet and i think i might feel one under her gums. is gagging a common teething thing?

I don't have an answer for you but just want to tell you that my 6.5 mo old DD has been gagging on her peas, which she's always enjoyed and never gagged before. She also has no teeth but I do feel teeth underneath her gums......I would like to know if teething can contribute to gagging...maybe from the pooling of saliva?

This just happened to me tonight...dd is lilover 6 months...breakfast wqs fine ate no problems..bottles throughout the day ok...diner time came i almost threw in the towel and said forget it she was gagging screaming crying just not happy i had to walk around with her calm her down it took forever ...finally she ate her carrots and cereal...she is teething right now . While i was consoling her she was knowing on her fingers so i think in my senerio it is her teething. I hope its just a phase and ur lo is over it real soon.

do a search from some of my posts from last Dec/Jan i was in the same boat. DS was an awful eater until 13 months.

we had vomit with solids several times a week and gagging with most feedings. he had a textural issue and couldnt even handle stage 2 until 10 months. we never even tried stage 3.

it got better but took time. by 13 months, everything changed all of a sudden and he was eating everything
