So, I, like you should, have all of my FB info set to "friends only" and every so often, I go in and double check all my settings since FB is constantly changing things.
I went in to check my application settings, and there were at least 100 applications, the bulk of, I had never even heard of......all of these applications can view ALL of your info, which I knew. I didnt realize HOW many apps had access though and you never know who is behind them, running them.
However, upon further inspection of the terms of the apps permission.....if you have them as an approved app, that entitles them access to ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS INFORMATION AS WELL, pictures, contact info, etc. So not only do apps youve "approved" have access to your info, so do ALL of your friends apps, regardless of your profile privacy settings, bc through a loophole, they have been "granted" permission via your "friends". I did not realize this. Do you know how many people that could go out too? I cant even fathom.
In light of this info, I am just thinking of deleting my FB account altogether, bc despite being diligent and blocking all of my info from non friends, this loop hole allows THOUSANDS of people do access it anyway, despite my settings.
What do you think, what would you do?

Scary! I have all my settings private and most can only be viewed by ME - not even friends. I think everyone should keep an eye on their accts once in a while. I hate that FB can also track where you've been and post it. I've seen that before too.

You can turn off what is accessible to your friends on the application settings page.
Below the "applications you use" is "Information accessible through your friends" go to edit settings and make sure everything is unchecked.

I just checked mine...you can change what information of yours is accessible through your friends apps...so you can basically hide your info from your friends' applications.

i just saw that, but still, its sneaky and for those who did not read the fine print of apps access, its so sneaky and scary. And you cannot block all of your info from them, there are a few exceptions.
This is the problem with FB, the app is one place, the security setting for it is someplace else. Im in like my 5th different tab right now, turning this off, hiding this, deleting that. Its not just as easy as turning your privacy settings to friends only. There are SO many ways around it. Its the slyness of it all that bothers me, KWIM?

I had like 154 applications!  I didnt even know I knew that many! I deleted them all! I only use facebook for sharing pics with my fam and friends and reading others status updates!

Nope I am a Admin on my friend business page that people "like" only your name come up and that is all!!!!

This is what I did to instead of deleting them. It also wont allow new apps be placed on your account ,etc.
