asking for prayers yet again
hi girls,
a few days ago i thought i'd be posting here with news of my bfp but it ends up that my bfp was short lived. since i have history of ectopic and loss, my doctor immediately ran a beta and my number only came back at 11 they ran a repeat beta today and now the number is at 2 so they said i will start bleeding and lose the baby any day now. we had THREE positive digital tests on 3 different days so we were feeling really confident that this would finally be it for us but apparently it's not.
DH and i have now lost 3 babies in less than 1.5 years. we are crushed and exasperated. i'm also very scared because before my ectopic was diagnosed, the doctors thought i was having a miscarriage and it wasn't....i'm so scared that will happen again. please keep us in your prayers that we get through this. i just can't believe this keeps happening. thanks girls

Re: asking for prayers yet again
i am so sorry you are going through this.
you NEED to see an RE!!! you need thrombo and immune testing done. chances are that one of these is the cause, and they are mostly easily treatable things, you just need to be properly d/x. i had two chemicals/early m/cs before i was d/x and i was already under the care of an RE. i highly reccomend dr. braverman since he specializes in immunology and repeat m/c. he has some of the most comprehensive testing in the business. your issue is most likely treatable!!! you just need to be under the care of the right people!!
with your beta down to 2 i wouldnt be particularly worried about another ectopic. although obviously you have to follow it down to 0. but technically 2 isnt even considered pregnant (its a gray area), so you should bleed very soon.
again, im so sorry

i actually thought of FMing you when i wrote this because i know you've been through this. i'm SO mad at myself for not going straight to an RE after the ectopic......what was i thinking?!?! i was just so scared of all the testing and now i regret being such a big baby. the first thing DH and i said to each other today is that our next step is to see an RE. i think we'll take a few months "off" first though. we live in westchester so we're going to see somebody here that we've read good things about and also do a consult with dr. b. seeing braverman would be a little bit of a drive for us but worth it if it ends in a healthy pregnancy.
thanks so much for your hugs and prayers. this sucks beyond words.

def dont be scared of the bloodwork. its much better to know and treat than to not know and risk m/c every time you get a BFP. to be honest, there really arent that many things they will test for that are untreatable. so chances are good they will find SOMETHING and it will be treated and you will go on to have a healthy pregnancy. at least you know you dont have a problem getting the BFP. for many of us thats half the battle!! you can see any RE who does immunology and thrombophilia testing, it doesnt HAVE to be dr. B - he just does the most extensive panel of most REs. i also believe you can see any RE and still consult with dr. B. it doesnt seem like you need the RE for ovulation/conception purposes, more for implantation and maintaining the pregnancy. so just find an RE near you that believes in immunological causes of early m/c (many do not and there is SO much research behind it, its ridiculous ) and then you can consult with dr. B or whomever and they can work together. also dr. B is in NYC sometimes so you could go there if you wanted to see him specifically but didnt want to go to Woodbury. i believe Dr. T at SIRM in NYC also does a lot of immune work if you wanted to see him instead. but dr. B is the only one i know of that specializes specifically in repeat pregnancy loss.
anyway im sooo sorry. dont beat yourself up over not doing it sooner - an ectopic is more of a fluke than immunologically caused, so you had no way to know that you would have repeat m/c. i had two chemicals under the care of dr. B before we did the necessary testing.
anyway again im so sorry.

Re: asking for prayers yet again
i'm so sorry from someone who has the same fears about ectopics, definitely go to an RE. schedule a few consults with different doctors and see who you like the best. the testing isn't that bad at all. they will do some blood work, a SA for your DH and then schedule you for an HSG (not sure if you've ever had one but if you had an ectopic it's definitely a good idea). it can be very overwhelming at first but just take it one day at a time.
